I agree with many others here about Hayes power being overrated and have been saying that for ages. Instead here you will get a one-sided beatdown of the opponent with Povetkin crying for his momma by the end. Haye TKO Rd 7
As much as I hate to say it, I think you may be correct. Unless Haye is placed in a position where he has to defend against an elite heavyweight or be stripped, his people will continue to cherry pick opponents. I think it likely that Ruslan Chagaev ( or someone of a similar caliber ) will be signed before a more primed opponent like Povetkin or chambers.
I dislike Haye and would love see him lose, but Povetkin doesn't dodge punches. Perhaps he fought with headgear for too long. Besides, his confidence and focus really seem to be in shambles, his career took one of the worst turns of anyone who didn't lose a fight or had drug/alcohol problems I can think of. Haye may struggle with a fighter who brings pressure, since he struggled with smaller pressure fighters, but eventually will find his mark with his power shots.
He takes flush power punches in every fight. Chambers managed to land 60% of his power punches. But, you're right if you're insinuating that he hasn't fought any big punchers. I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming he must be successful for a reason.
I see Haye knocking him out, but i wont be early, i think he will wear him down and get a ko between rounds 8-12
Haye throws one punch an runs, until something big lands, then he tries to finish you off. I don't see that working with Povetkin. Personally, I don't see how Haye has a snowballs chance in hell.
Hmm,people are really split on this. Indicates that it should be a close fight. I feel the styles favour haye and like i said i'd pick him if i had to, but i wouldn't put too much money on it
Spot on. That big punch will not likely come in this fight, if the fight were to happen. If the fight were to happen, David is not busy enough to beat Povetkin and Povetkin wins in the 119-113 range (as a couple of early rounds go 10-10) or David quits sitting on his stool late ("injured shoulder" or "pulled muscle"). David does not really want this fight. It does not meet any of his criteria. Mormeck, Tarver, Rahman and Holyfield do, especially Holyfield.
