Come on now. It looks a bit salty, but you can't blame JMM for that. It would be one thing if a future fight was years off or maybe impossible. Those two guys meeting could happen within the next two years. Who the hell would want him in their gym?

Having been involved in similar situations across my career, what likely happened was:

Nacho mentions to Marquez that he has taken Maidana as a client
Marquez, who likely views that as a big, winnable fight at 140, objects to training in the same room with a fish he is going to try to land.
Nacho agree's, calls Maidana, and puts a kobosh on it.
Maidana is, understandably pissed.

And yes, folks. If you are training a fighter, and have been for 20+ years, and decide to take on another client in and around his weight range, you check with him, because that is potentially a future opponent and could lead to strain.
