Floyd would dance circles around Duran, and win a UD...

The entire fight would depend on how Duran reacts to Floyds punch.... If Floyd cant get his respect, then he would get slowly battered over 12 rounds. If he could seriously hurt Duran, then it might look like the Marquez fight but with much more dangers moments for Floyd. I think Duran would take a competitive UD

He can't hurt Duran. He's not a Hearns type banger and he never was. Duran would take Floyd's punches very very very well. Duran isn't marquez, he's rangier, faster, with a lot more head movement and power as well as overall boxing ability.

We've seen Floyd against a lot of Mexican pressure guys, none quite as good as Duran.

To see Duran against a very mobile light weight, look at his fights with Viruet. At times his mobility was troublesome for Duran. I do think Duran's achilles heel was an extremely mobile guy since he was slightly slower of foot than Pac is with his in and out, but I think MORE defensively sound and punch resistant than Pac is (I know, Pac is almost never hurt, but I feel like he gets hurt more than Duran did when Duran wasn't facing guys like Hearns). If Floyd can stay mobile he can coast a bit, but the fight could end quickly if he makes any serious lapses in judgement.

It has to be at 15 rounds. Championship boxing was really quite different with same day weigh ins and the 15 round limit. It's really hard to make a valid comparison sometimes.

The skillful slugger wearing down the boxer in rounds 13-15, a la Arguello-Escalera, or many other examples, doesn't happen any more. We really don't know who would win and which of the recent fighters could do well over 15 rounds. I watched Calzaghe-Jones the other night on the HBO website and there was no doubt Calzaghe was a 15 round type fighter. I suspect PBF would be able to pace himself, even more than he does now, and do well at 15 against most opponents. But I think Duran at lightweight would win that one over 15 rounds over PBF.

No one's "murdering" anyone here, that claim is just stupid.

This would be a highly competitive fight, but I just can't bet against Duran who just a beast at that weight.
The question is how does Floyd react to Duran's relentless pressure? We haven't really seen him in a situation like this before.

This is the whole point. I personally beleive Floyd's avoided these type of encounters and doesn't particularly like to get hit. Nobody does, but it certainly doesn't bother Duran as much as Floyd. And if you don't like getting hit, it's not a far stretch to think someone like Duran would hurt Floyd somewhere in the match, especially if he can force him into the ropes and turn it into a brawl. And I simply can't see Floyd avoiding this happening for an entire fight, especially if he doesn't have enough power to get Duran's respect.

yeah the fact is Viruet or anyone who fought Duran at lightweight was not close to Duran's speed, yet Mayweather and Whitaker were as quick and quicker..

    :huh

Fernandez, Buchanan, DeJesus, Lampkin...were all pretty quick fighters, they did not look completely out of their depth in this regard against Roberto.

To say they weren't even close...again you just love overlooking the details about Duran don't you MAG..just happy in your little world of looking at facts in the most basic "My first lil Boxing book" kind of way.
