Trainers: Eddie Futch Nacho Bernstein Hector Rocha Curtis Cokes Jack Mosely Miguel Diaz and Manny Stewart! I am too lazy to list them all .Some fighters Kevin Kelly Kostya Tzysu Shane Mosley Diego Corrales Marvin Hagler Eric Morales Butterbean George Foreman Joe Bugner Livingstone Bramble Carlos Palomino Jake Rodriguez. There are lots more I have spent a lot of time around boxing!
It's amazing how small some fighters seem in person. Carl Froch seems really scrawny and David Haye doesn't even look like a heavyweight face-to-face. I've met loads of fighters in person, including lots of heavyweights and the only one who really looked huge was Kevin McBride.
That makes me enjoy these fights more: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XO0Vtii0zRs[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhfqmYaX6gU[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKLXww6uVRQ[/ame]
Paul Williams at the Pavlik/Martinez fight. nice guy, posed for pics with people. tall as hell too for his weight. iam 6'5'' and he wasnt much shorter. it was funny because all the guys in the section were like "oh there is paul williams" and all the women had no idea who he was but just ran up for a picture, walking back ot their seats asking "who is that?" funny stuff
Soto-Karass: I was at his fight vs Estrada the night before Margarito-Cotto. I was like in the 5th row by his corner cheering for him and one of his cornermen threw me his t-shirt when he took it off during the introductions. Then his cornerman and he came over after he got cleaned up after the fight and talked to me and signed it. Pretty cool. Nonito Donaire trains at the same gym I work out at. I've talked to him a few times and seen him a bunch. I met Chris Byrd at a fight in Vegas and got a pic with him. Then a week later we was in my home area at a sporting good's store opening. so i went over with my son and got him to sign my picture. his wife was there too. while i talked to chris his wife was all over my son. both really cool. Pat Lawlor used to hang out at a bar by my office before it closed. I used to talk to him all the time. I took a **** next to Sean O'Grady. I talked to him, but, resisted the urge to turn and try and shake his hand. I've one off met a bunch of other fighters at fights: JuanMa, Zab, Malignaggi, Robert Guerrero, Lucia Rijker, Paulie Ayala, Luisito Espinosa, Winky Wright, Clinton Woods, Shannon Briggs, Michael Moorer, Kevin Kelly and probably at least a half dozen others I can't remember right now. The only fighter who ever dogged me when I tried to talk to him was Jorge Arce. Michael Moorer wasn't particularly friendly either, but, he did take a pic with me and grunt a hello. I do believe it when people say that boxers are the friendliest athletes.
Being from Pensacola I've met Roy Jones many times and there's no way in hell he's 5'11. I'm only 5'10 and I'm way taller than him. But I've also met Derrick Gainer and Andre Berto last year.

thanks for posting these up. made my day. btw, i was at a costco once at daly city and saw luisito espinosa working there but not sure if it was him or not, because i couldn't imagine a fighter of his stature working there so i didn't approach him (not that there's anything wrong with an honest day's work). sure enough it was him. i use to train with his ex trainer dee pooler in oakland and he told me that he does work at costco because he's been robbed of purse money.
I was flying out of McCarran at the asscrack of dawn last year following a friend's bachelor party when I noticed I was standing in front of a guy with a remarkable flat top on the tram that goes from ticketing to the gates. I thought my eyes were deceiving me as I had attained maybe 2 cumulative hours of sleep over that weekend, but it was Tony Weeks who was rocking a fanny pack like a mid 90s pro wrestler. I told him that Corrales-Castillo I was one of my favorite fights of all time and all the Spanish I know is from his pre-fight instructions before we headed to our gates. He was appreciative.
For the last month ive been seeing Daniel Ponce Deleon at least a few times a week at 24 hour fitness where he meets with MMA trainer Larry Landless to do Plyo training.
