Well, I've noticed that some guys are not as good as advertised and some are killers. I've sparred one guy who has an amatuer win over Floyd, Augie Sanchez. Even though he looks vulnerable in professional fights, with head gear and big gloves he is about as deadly as you can imagine. DEADLY. He was taking it somewhat easy on me, I've never been hit so cleanly, so easily, so hard. He hits big big guys with a sharp shot and they drop like they've been shot. I think just hand speed wise I was faster than him, but it didn't matter one bit, still can't land on a guy like that. If you think a 180 lb guy will just walk over Augie, you're wrong.

Watching Winky spar: he jabs really really hard. Destrucitvely so. Big big sparring partners are being pushed back by that jab. Not at all as light punching as you would imagine, he just doesn't go for the KO.

And sparring all the time, STYLES MAKE FIGHTS has never been truer. I have a friend with a very very different boxer puncher counterpunching style, and it seems like the guys I beat easily in sparring he has a hard time with, and the guys who put it on me he has absolutely no problem with. Some people can't adjust to broken rhythm speed.

yeah. that one heh heh. I have no doubt in real life without gloves he could beat someone to death pretty easily. I saw him drop an average professional middleweight with one body shot. (Luckily, most midleweights are easier to hit in the body than I am, my body is a really small target).

The intensity of the gym workouts.

How difficult it is to punch as hard and as accurate on the pads after doing between 10 and 12 solid rounds on a heavy bag, knowing after that you have more rounds to do on another exercise.

A pop in the nose drawing blood out of both nostrils can be very debilitating, especially with the mouthpiece already cutting off your airflow.

Sparring rings are not always flat and you can trip over ridges in the center of the ring.

like i was saying in the lounge aramini, pro boxers are trained to fight, an average boxer could beat the **** out of someone twice his size with no fight training.

  11. Boxers and the boxing gym are far more humble and easy going place than going to your regular weights and exercise gym.

The speed of some fighters. I sparred a lad in my club who won a few national titles. He was about 4 years older than me so I wasnt expecting much of myself. Anyway im met with two jabs straight away and my head flies back. Had to concentrate so much more.

    Grace and distance.

You have no idea how graceful men are moving on TV. Then when you are in the gym attempting to throw fluid combinations while moving your feet, ad******g angles, and maintaining distance? Wow.

Distance - You have no idea the amount of nerves and will it takes to stay in range like pros do. To see two pros standing and not yielding distance where they can land and be landed on takes being in the gym to appreciate. The murderous intent and acceptance of being on the receiving end of it is just astonishing.
