I don't think so, and neither did Galindez, immediately acknowledging Mike's success with a manly gesture of sportsmanship when the referee stopped it, far from deriding it as the dubious stoppage Backus-Napoles I so obviously was. Rossman was lucky catching a great champion on the slide, but he candidly admitted beforehand that he was going for Victor's vulnerable eyes, and carried out his well planned strategy to the letter. He succeeded where EMM, Yaqui 2X, Kates 2X and Fourie 2X had failed. He did manage an easy successful defense before a fractured right hand cost him the title back to Galindez.

he's the worst world champ i've seengalindez had probably trained for about a week for that fight.
at the time i thought galindez gifted him the title with his lack of fitness

Well i can think of a mediocre fighter that won 2 titles. Darrin Van horn was a decent fighter but IMO a top 10 guy at best. He be3at a weak champion for the JM title Robert Hines who caught a Partied out Matthew Hilton at the right time. Then also got lucky in fighting a old Lindell Holmes.

Alfredo Layne wasnt that good he had a bad record and happen to catch an old washed up Wilfredo Gomez at the right time... And Gomez didnt even deserve that title as he was given a gift over Rocky Lockridge.

Sure to a point Santana was lucky. But as far as Norris went, it was hardly an isolated incident. Time and time again Norris hit opponents on the floor and wrongly he was only thrown out three times (twice for illegal blows whilst his opponent was on the floor), as it should of been nearer half a dozen dq's.

No, he beat Muhammad Ali. What are you? The reincarnation of everything that was wrong about Fleischer?

Your act is getting dull, freshen it up, as one trick ponies do not last...

Leon is better than given credit for he fought like a skilled mad man in that first fight.. And is one of the best amatuers ive seen.. He just partied to much and got washed up real fast... Granted Ali took that fight lightly and was past it but Leon would have beat lot of guys on that night.

    End of what?

No one is denying Neon Leon was champ, the debate is over least deserving. Did Spinks, pre Ali, do enough to deserve the shot?

There is plenty of debate in that context.
