"Hi, I'd like to **** on a good fighter by matching him up against the highest rated champion ever of his respective division because I'm a ****."

    Why? It doesn't matter.

I voted Vitali by points, only if we're talking 70's judges to Ali will win a very, very, very disputed SD.

Like said by others, worst possible opponent for Ali.
Too much height, weight, power difference with good skills and almost as good a chin. Ali can't joke, spoil and showboat himself out of this one.

This is such a "bash a current boxer by matching him up with a legend" thread that doesn't work very well...

H2H matchups between eras are silly

it has to be a p4p issue (although its pretty difficult to analyse that as well)

They are too different because of the disproportionate weight

i just dont see where a slow , sorry make that a very slow plodder with only average sppen on his punches would get near the quickest feet , body and punch of ali.

    it san easy fight

frazier would beat vutali also , vitali would be badly beat up by the 1oth round...i dont care if he has a 40lb weight advantage - he gets beaten up by a prime frazier

foreman beat vitali by brutal tko on cuts...no way this fight goes over 8 rounds

holmes just like ali beats vitali , holmes jab alone win the fight and he had a stonger right hand...ali and holmes are by far better boxers

tyson - vitali lucky to see the 6th prime for prime , tyson too fast and powerful vs a big slow guy like vitali

holyfield wins wide points...holy in prime is too fast and moblie for vitali , too many punch angles and beats him up on the inside.

vitali is a decent champion but no more...he wouldnt have lasted in the 70 , 80 , era

    Are you kidding me?

Klitschko nutthuggers constantly **** on the legacy of great fighters to prop their boys up. It's totaly ****ing disgusting how you jackasses continually disrespect boxing all time greats by comparing them and disparing their records in order to make the Klitschko's flimy records somehow look better. You boys are champions of a **** era. If the HW division was a pile of ****, your boys would be kings of the hill. But don't take a **** on the great to prop these assholes up, just don't. it's bad for boxing when you do that.

Dont think its fair to compare fighters from different generations.

Training habits change, fighters become bigger stronger and if they're dedicated fitter than fighters of previous generations.

Ali spent most of his career outjabbing fighters who he was a couple of inches taller than, and in most cases heavier than.

How do you think he does that against someone who is 6'8 and who'd out weigh him by 30 lbs,and who is in shape?

Comparing fighters from different generations in sports is ridiculous.

Jesse Owens wouldnt even make it to an Olympic semi final in the modern era, does that make him less of a great athlete?

Jim Browne would not be some blockbusting running back in the modern era, like he was in his time. Does that take away from his acheivements?

Frederik Puskas, is considered an all time legend of Soccer, yet if you look at old pics of him he was at least 20 pounds overweight, and wouldnt last 30 mins in a modern game.

Long story short, you cant compare sports people of different generations directly to each other. Compare their acheivements relatively.

If sanders can knock out wlad so can Ali, I really believe Ali destroys wlad over 15 rounds, way to skilled, wlad has a jab, straight right hand and left hook. Ali would take his jab away by dancing around it, he will tko him wlad also doesnt have 15 round stamina.
Vitali has a better chance but still loses a decision he loses because of skill, speed and heart. Every time he would try that lean back move he would get hit with a jab because he isnt fast enough to avoid it, he also has bad footwork and therefore would look silly in the ring vs Ali.

I'm sure (maybe) the brothers could beat Ali now, but what about when he was in his prime?

there are only 5 fighters I favour over Vitali Klitschko in their primes: Ali,tyson, lewis, holmes and bowe.
Against the others I favour Vitali, that includes guys like: foreman, frazier, holyfield, wlad, dempsey, liston, patterson, norton, marciano, johnson, louis.
Some of those could definitly beat him but if I had to choose I would pick vitali.

And what do you base this on?

The 4 rounds he won against Lewis?

    His win over Danny Williams?

His 12 round decision against Shannon Briggs?

How do you come to this conclusion?
