He is the nephew of Cuban legend Felix Savon. He's a 6'4" kid that fights at 91kg and above.

When I saw the title I thought it would be some hybrid fantasy boxer (maybe Felix Savon's and Erislandy Lara's lovechild), but he actually exists.

    Nice uppercuts!
The guy really shows some potential, but will he ever get out of Cuba?

As far as I know a lot of Cuban sporters do, I know I would!
But if he doesn't (like his uncle Felix), we probably won't hear too much of the guy, or he has to do very, very well in the amateurs.

Yes indeed, that's what I see too... He doesn't fight like an amateur.

It's well known that a lot of Cuban athletes know they would be rich if they would live in a "free" country. Almost everybody wants the best for themselves and for their families (wouldn't you?). Cuban people flee (the fact that they need to do that says it all) the country on a daily basis, even facing an unknown future. And sporters know they would probably become rich if they do.

How many of the "big names" in Cuban boxing haven't actually fled, against how many who did. Then take a large percentage from the ones that didn't the percentage that didn't make it, or didn't had the guts.

Would you like to live in a country where you can't even make the decision yourself if you want to visit another country or even live somewhere else?
Where you probably always will be poor, even if a good athlete gets privileges over other people in your country?
Where you're not free to speak your mind and can get trown into jail if you expose the hypocrisy of your goverment :)think O wait a minute... :yep).

been to cuba many times, a beautiful place to be, a lot of happy people that love their country and where they are more than i can say for my own island of PR where everybody is killing eachother

LOL you learned that watching tv right.

First of all is not all about money all the time, some people love to compete and are happy having what they have. Savon was offered millions many times when he went outside of cuba to compete but he decided to stay. Stevenson as well and like them there are many more. And some that left regret it once they see all the corruption and realize they cant go back and visit their families and friends.
