Compared to the mobile heavies of the 70s, the Klitschkos are statues. They're lucky that most of the so-called top contenders today would be carrying buckets to the corners in the old days. These beauties throw two or three punches a round, and that's usually just in the first three or four rounds before they start gulping air from lifting their gigantic butts off their stools.

I think some of you need to go back and watch the real stars in action.

Ali by a very comfortable decision

I believe that Tyson is the worst for Ali.

If you compare active fighter to a legend (instead of a man behind the legend) - of course the legend going to win. The real Ali had his flaws. He had a techinically flawed style that was never supposed to work but yet it did - not unlike what people say about Vitali's style nowadays. Comparing fighters from different eras is a fun game but nothing more. But, if Norton could edge Ali so can Vitali and if anyone is going to say that Norton is better boxer than Vitali then stfu.

Ali wasn't considered to be at his best when he fought Norton.

The Ali who fought Liston, Patterson, and Cleveland Williams, was a prime Ali.

And Ali was a much better technical fighter than Vitali. He surpasses him in just about every department. Hand-speed, foot-speed, timing, accuracy, head movement. Plus Vitali's footwork is terrible. His technique is pretty bad aswell, arm punches and the likes. It's safe to say they are a fair distance apart technically.

Ali defense was was based on pure speed and reflexes and not technical skills. That became apparent as he slowed down later in his career that flaw has been exposed. As much as Vitali Ali relied on leaning back to avoid punches and that would not necessarily work for him in a fight against much taller skilled boxer. If by "footwork" you mean Ali "dancing" around the ring then it was a show-off and frustration to opponents rather then the real threat. He rarely landed anything meaningful while "dancing" and waited on opponent to come to him. Besides, more often than not Ali found himself cornered after his "dancing" exercises. Ali had exceptional physical gifts and that made him great while they lasted. I would not use Ali as a poster boy for boxing technique.

Go to hell, OP. Your Klitschko vs. ATG threads are done to death and there's no need for reliving the same ****ing arguments over and over.

  9. I feel like this fight turns out somewhat close to how Vitali vs. Lewis went. Probably would end later in the fight but Ali pulls it out.

Ali's speed and head movement would be enough to avoid shots from most heavyweight champions in history, not to mention a somewhat slow, robotic fighter like Vitali Klitschko who's unconventional punch style is not particulalrly difficult to avoid. A prime Ali was rarely cornered, I certainly don't remember Liston or Patterson cornering him, his footspeed and clever footwork enabled him to get out of cornering situations.

What is all this garbage concerning Ali's superior boxing technique vs Vitali? Many or most of Vitali's opponents had superior boxing technique. It is Vitali's unorthodox style that makes him so effective! It must be extremely hard to train for someone like Vitali. He punches hard, often and accurately from unusual angles. Even Vitali's defense is unorthodox to the point that any trainer would tell their young fighters to avoid emulating Vitali's style!!! Ali may have been prettier to watch, but styles make fights and there is no fighter in history that will make easy work of either K brother especially Vitali! Anyone who thinks otherwise is just trying to make themselves feel better due to personal dislike for Klitschko. I don't think that Vitali would walk through any of the ATG heavy's at all, but they wouldn't either!!!! He would be a threat to any ATG!

*then why bring it up if its under "unusual circumstances"?... Byrd was losing by 4 ppints and getting dominated... and u think Vitali lost?
*Vitali would beat Ali like he stole something... Vitali would be the biggest fighter Ali ever fought, one of the hardest punchers Ali ever fought, smartest fighter Ali ever fought, tallest fighter Ali ever fought... Vitali would use his reach and dimantle Ali systematically... Ref stops the fight in 10 rounds.

Ali fought at his best as he caught his opponents coming in. He had his share of problems with defensive fighters (Young, Norton, Doug Jones) where he was the one to be an aggressor. I am not trying to take anything away from Ali and he was a great fighter with natural ability but styles make fights and Vitali would be a stylistical nightmare for Ali - tall skilled defensive boxer-puncher leaning back waiting for Ali to do something. Ali was never comfortable fighting as aggressor nor did he have a very good body attack.
