muhammad alis lateral movement would be to much for vitali/having to constantly reset would be a real ***** for vitali...........and alis lethal straight right hand out of nowere....not heavy but enough to make u think twice about throwing your own punches...........check out ali/foreman for that lethal straight right hand ...and also in the lyle fight........just b4 the stoppage.........alis handspeed was freakish.....and if vitali got laid up on the ropes for sum reason....GOOD NITE....

    Okey-dokey.

Vitali has a good chin. And what? He has poor footwork, poor punching technique, an unvaried punch arsenal, and a god awful resume. He is significantly slower than Ali, is far less technically skilled than Ali, and is lesser than 'The Greatest' in every department. A good chin is not enough to beat Ali, particularly when a fighter is lacking in every other attribute.

Todays athletes are not the same as the athlete's of the 70's, you're right about that. Have you seen Chris Arreola, top US heavyweight contender recently? What about Sam Peter? KingPin Johnson? The fat golfer Corrie Sanders? In comparison to the heavyweight contenders of the 70's there condition is disgraceful. Older fighters were more dedicated and less pampared, and becuase of this were in far better condition than the heavyweights of today.

I am delusional for thinking that the greatest heavyweight of all time would beat a guy who is barely top 15? If so, I am happy to be delusional. I am delusional for thinking the fastest Heavyweight of all time, with superb footwork, footspeed, handspeed, chin and accuracy would beat a guy who got his face ripped open by a fat, shot, old Lennox Lewis? Again, glad to be delusional. You don't seem to be very intelligent my friend.

    Goodnight.

Yeah that's probably what Ali would do to VITLAY too...cut him to shreds. I doubt he had the power to KO VITLAY but he most definately could TKO him whilst he was cut to bits and taking unanswered shots. Providing VITLAY didn't quit first, obviously. Glass bodies and hearts exist in boxing and all that.

Lewis & Holmes are more predictable because they fight orthodox, Vitali is very unorthodox. VK throws punche sfrom weird angles that are very hard to defend against. What sparring partner can imitate that size & style?

Still, an intriguing match since Ali had a way of adapting to just about every style, size or power his opponent possessed.

    I didn't vote....................

VITLAY does throw punches from weird angles yes, but how often does he land? He makes it hard for the comp level he's been facing to tee off because he keeps them off balance, the shoe would be on the other foot against Ali.

Vitali would have trouble with Ali's speed & combinations but Vitali also throws a ridiculous amount of punches per round & his accuracy, counter punching & tenacity are all strong points.

Obviously Ali would be the favorite but he does give up serious height, probably reach too.

I'd like to see it wouldn't you? :hey

Of course I'd like to see it...I voted Ali but I'm not stupid enough to say he'd definately win - like VITLAY he did lose to a couple of fighters he really shouldn't have lost to but he was a speed merchant and peaked earlier than VITLAY and also had a WAY better level of comp than VITLAY does.

Don't think the reach would be an issue, or the height. Speed kills :deal

Chin can counter that. Problem is, if he gets hit enough Vitali could bleed out like Wepner..............

The VK that Lewis fought stood & slugged for much of that fight though, the latest version of Vitali has much better defense & that accounts for some of the recent non KO wins VK has.

That's also true, Ali peaked early & Vitali peaked late.

I remember Ali clowning by leaning back & avoiding punches & it's funny I've seen Vitali do that a few times too! He just didn't look as pretty doing it. :yep Ali always looked smoooooothh, Vitali is very awkward sometimes.

That's what pissed me off most about this thread. The VITLAY lovers claim Ali has 'poor technique' yet VITLAY is 'awkward, and something Ali wouldn't have seen before' :patsch

I believe Ali would win due to superior skills and speed and yes I think his jab would most likely cut VITLAY up, but if I'm honest I'm sure VITLAY would have his moments. Against someone like Foreman or Tyson, I don't think VITLAY or WALDO would have 'moments' at all, styles make fights.
