Fighters to have contested world title fights in 3 decades?

Foreman deserves a mention, though he just misses out on 3 decades by a year or so. He came back in the 80's but didn't fight for another title until early 1991.

 

Foreman would be an obvious choice but he never contested for a title in the 80s so it automatically precludes him.

 

I know, but there aren't many fighters who fit the bill.

George was close, had he started his comeback just a year earlier he could well have got a title shot in 89 and then he would qualify. Obvious and irrelevant to this thread, I know, but there it is all the same.

er...Gypsy Gem Mace? (They didn't have 'world' titles in his day.)

I thought Mayweather won his first title in the late 90's,

many title fights in the 00's,

I didn't think he'd had a title fight in the 10's so when he has one more title fight (ie in the 10's) that will make him contesting a world title fight in three decades as per the thread title.

or have i got this all wrong? :?
