You probably missed the joke on that last comment of mine (wikileaks ring a bell?!), but that doesn't matter.

With the rest of your comment you exactly underlined my point... Teofilio Stevenson and Felix Savon are part of the few Cubans who where loyal to their country... Please feel free post the "many more" part of your comment, and then compare that to the Cuban Olympians who did flee the country.

You might live in a sh#tty country, at least you're free to go to another one if you want and have the means to get out.

I live in a great and beautiful country, but dont give me that bull. Poor people every where not just cuba cant just get up and move to wherever they want. Unless they do it illegally. Can a poor mexican move to the US if he doesnt like his living conditions. Can a dominican kid move anywhere in the world if he doesnt like his conditions.

And for the many boxers that decided to stay i'll give you a few.

    Maikro ROMERO
    Hector vinent
    Alfredo duvergel
    juan hernandez
    arnaldo mesa
    ariel hernandez
    mario kinderlan (amir kahns' father)
    adolfo Horta
    Roberto Balado

And that's just boxing many baseball players and other athletes get pressure to defect but decide to stay.

Not only that but there are thousands of cuban doctors working over seas in haiti and all over latin america. All of them go back to cuba after they are finish with their time over seas. is not everybody's dream to live in the US or europe.

Thanks for the list, have you compared it to the ones that defected?
They're easy to find, just look at the Cuban P4P list at boxrec for exaple... active and all.

Remember in my post the "...and have the means to get out" part?
Of course a kid can't just go everywhere he wants, but if you can and living in a sh#tty country it can't get much worse by moving away can it?
No it's not everybody's dream... But if the country is crappy enough and the possibilities in another country so much better, then most want to leave.
Remember the German wall? When interviewed "nobody" wanted to leave, but in reality people risked their lives (litterly, cause they got shot) to get to the other side. Only the ones that had it better didn't want to leave.

    But it all doesn't matter...

The original point was; If he doesn't leave Cuba, he will probably never get noticed too much.

So what constitute a shitty country for you, and where do you live by the way. Secondly the list i gave you has the best fighters ever to fight from cuba. The only one that defected that can be compared to that list is rigo. And lastly not leaving cuba didnt affect savon, stevenson, balado and many others get noticed. Besides just being in the national team makes you a hero back home in cuba.
