Mike Tyson, his ever loving nut huggers made/make excuses for every loss. This somehow in their eyes makes him even greater.
Tyson built a legacy around his demolition of Spinks, other contenders whose demolition was just as brutal, a victory over a rusty albeit still very good Holmes and being the youngest heavyweight belt holder of all time. Everything else heavily detracts from his legacy, especially Holyfield and Douglas. Still doesn't mean the guy has a strong legacy and will be considered among the greatest heavyweights to lace them up.

kostya tszyu, castillo, mallignaggi, collazo, and mayweather didn't "destroy" hatton at all. Hatton was holding his own until the midway point and then floyd picked him off when hatton got impatient. The referee didn't do hatton any favours either, everytime they got in close they were split.......I hate cortez!
Ricky Hatton will forever be remembered for his defeats against pac and mayweather probably moreso than his victory over Tzyu.
It sort of saddens me to say it, because he has had quite a long period of domination but Wladimir Klitschko comes to mind. His losses certainly stand out over his wins...however he has been "The Man" at Heavyweight for quite some time. I guess his losses will hurt his legacy as much as his dominance enhances it. :think
