Sweetpea.. Normally you are an excellent poster. I don't disagree with the above post btw.. But, you seem to bite on every piece of bait thrown out by Dana White.
I agree. Silva can knock out Hendo no question.. I tell you right now...Getting into Silvas guard is getting very painful..and Silvas getting better...he can stall you in the ground with the long arms and his long legs. Forget submission...Just stalling.. No what happen when he puts you in a bodylock? Big John MAC wil stand it up.. And there lies the dilemma
Silva would never beat Wladimir. Silva never goes to the ground unless he has too and I'm not even sure if he has the physical strength to wrestle Wlad to the ground. Fedorwould beat Wlad easily and probably 99% of all the other fighters out there.
If you are serious...you know that that was the greatest submission in the history of MMA right? Its one in a million..Lets see Ryo if he can do that again...Watch more MMA
i should say that you should have seen he was overhyped from a mile away. he was beating average conteders at best. i know you'll admit that the nationality side of it clouded your judgement. he is nothing like pac. pac broke his hand against jmm and he still finished the fight swinging like his liefe depended on it. vera broke his hand and covered up and basically handed the win to sylvia
Problem with Vera is he really had the skills, Rob Kaman tells you youre good then you are...The problem is the heart and hes scared..you cant teach that...You notice when he was aggressive and kicking he was doing well
exactly. he look fine at the end of the 2nd round. i was shocked when he decided to clinch right after the opening bell. i thought sylvia was the one who'd want to clinch more because of his height and because vera was a good striker but when vera decided to clinch, i figured he was simply afraid to get him. i knew he'd lose right there
Funny silva is a great fighter but he hasn't fought the best guys at 185 and anyone who claims franklin is as good as linland, hendo and fliho is just foolish.
I do agree I think Silva is P4P the best MMA fighter in the world with GSP a very close second. Though I must say Anderson Silva was certainly was not the best MMA fighter in the world when this was thread was originally posted (2007), Fedor Emelianenko was.
Right now, Overeem is the best fighting machine in the world IMO. Obviously if he was constrained by boxing rules, he'd get creamed by all of the top boxers in his weight class. But if we are talking just fighting, he is the number 1 as I see it, due to his proficiency in different disciplines and the decline of Fedor. But Velasquez, Dos Santos, Barnett, Werdum, etc all may disagree with me. And if we are talking p4p, then it's GSP or Anderson Silva.
well I would like to see what happens in this years K-1 world GP, if Overeem participates which he may not. Then add to that what happens in the Strikeforce Heavyweight tournament
In 2007 he was the most talented and athletic fighter even then. As far as pure talent, athleticism, technique and results I would say Anderson Silva is the greatest fighter. Forget about whether its boxing or jiu-Jitsu or Muay Thai....this is about the best fighter period. A group of fighters walk into a warehouse to fight a weekend tournament in a cage and only one walks out.... Anderson Silva.
