    Round 2

Hearns has several straight and narrow but light jabs blocked. Sturm thrusts his own jab out forcefully and is accurate with it off the front foot. Hearns has his chin turned by jabs every time Sturm hustles and catches up to him. Hearns finally dodges a pair of jabs by suddenly altering his direction mid-step. Sturm is getting cheered on every jab. Hearns flips a soft right down to the body. Sturm waves his head and fists around, weaving through a cloud of Hearns jabs and magically avoiding contact. Sturm times a Hearns jab and counters with his own, landing. Hearns lands a quick jab before Sturm can put his arms together, but Sturm blocks the next three. Hearns keeps circling and flicking out blocked jabs. Sturm throws a big 1-2 but Hearns pulls himself out of its path.

    Round 3

Hearns is putting more into his jabs now, and manages to insert a few between Sturm's gloves. Ooh, nice right cross by Hearns! Sturm keeps walking him down but is no longer outlanding him as much. Hearns is moving his head, rolling his shoulders, and putting a lot of snap on his punches. Hearns leans right of a Sturm jab and throws a 1-2 that would have landed but for Sturm's shoulder being in the way. Sturm pushes Hearns to the ropes and reaches in to land a jab on the chin. Hearns adopts a Philly shell and keeps the right up by his chin in sippy-cup posture. Nice right hands by Hearns out of the shell. He continues to poke through Sturm's gloves with the jab.

    29-28 Sturm

Hearns' jab looked weak in rounds 1 & 2, but it looks sharp now.

Nice work from Hearns in the 3rd. I like the hooks and body punches. That's what you gotta do against a high guard. Fight is gettin more even now. Interesting.

Sturm seems to always find a way to make a fight that should be his, close.

    Round 4

Hearns is jabbing and turning his body, using constant movement and synergy. Hearns eats a few jabs as the Germans caw but keeps his cool and leads Sturm around the ring, landing his own jabs and rights as Sturm walks in. Sturm jabs Hearns' right hand away from his face, shattering the Philly shell but doesn't take advantage. Hearns gets back into it and uses a lot of tricky defensive movement while backing up. Hearns is no longer throwing much. Sturm is back to blocking a majority of Hearns' punches and landing his steady jab while rolling onward. OOH, nasty jab snaps Hearns' head back as he's up against the ropes.

    39-37 Sturm
