I agree with Leon, if you are going to remove him off the list due to inactivity and not based on his performances in the ring then your making your list wrong. Until he announces his retirement he is on the list. Imagine if you take him off the P4P list and he comes back and beats Pacman early next year. U now have a guy off the list that all of a sudden you are going to have number 1. this is why u can't base the list on inactivity. It just doesn't make sense to have a guy off the list due to inactivity when everyone knows his skill level is beyond everyone elses except for maybe one guy.

Where is the option in the poll for "Yes, and Donaire should be placed there instead" ?

Me too but I think he has better defense than Pacquiao. Martinez is hittable too as Pavlik showed but Pavlik hit him with straight, precise punches in the middle rounds. Even Williams had some success in the last few rounds of the first fight with his jab but people forget that.

It's not right not to add inactivity as a factor because that just means people have reserved spots. Boxing is always changing especially when it comes to who's champ, who's on top of the division, etc. so lists should reflect that. Active fighters who beat more guys worth a crap should always be placed over guys who are inactive and barely have recent meaningful wins. If Mayweather doesn't have a fight scheduled before or during may then he should be taken off P4P lists.

Skills with no balls does not equal #1 p4p. He's inactive because people are starting to see how he's cherry picking smaller/older fighters and is too scared to take on challenges...

I never give much credence to P4P lists but who is the best, unretired & active(?) boxer in the world today?

    Floyd by a distance.

This isnt an attack on the recent accomplishments of Manny, Sergio & Donaire.

if mayweather doesn't fight in a year, then he should fall off the list. in the meantime, he's still at #2 until martinez wins again vs a very credible opponent.

donaire's win vs. montiel doesn't move him past either floyd or martinez. but it does push him past jmm for #4.

they all move up one place as soon as mayweather's current inactivity reaches 1 year.

Man hell no. Mosley stayed at number 3 even though hadn't fought in 18 months and Bernard was at number 4 for a while after the Pavlik fight even though he was inactive

People talk smack on Pac for fighting guys like Mosley, and I do agree that I don't want to see him fight Mosley, BUT as least Pac does fight, and stays very active. Honestly besides JMM, Mayweather, and Martinez (who he doens't need to fight) there's really nobody else. I mean Berto is ok, and some 140 pounders that Pac could fight, but really not much of anybody that means anything.
I'm just happy to see the guy keep fighting. Mayweather is far to active to really be ranked, and his wins since his 1st retirement was a blown up JMM, and an old Mosley. Mosley one was alright, JMM was a bit rediculous. The only thing Mayweather had going for him was he was P4P #1 when he left...
