I think Agbego might last 12 rounds with him but I think he'll take a helluva beating in the process. Donaire unleashed is a beast!

I'm kind of pissed of like I was then Sergio starched PW so early. Was wanting at least 6 rounds of action!

 

Three fights stick in my mind were Donaire didn't destroyed his opponent and that was Harutyunyan, Mthalane and Concepcion. All three have similarities they where all strong and Harutyunyan and Mthalane have a very orthodox centre of the ring style. Agbeko is both of those but better then any of those fighters.

If he can destroy Agbeko he can leave 118 as undisputed Champ, with IBF, WBC, WBO and Ring Magazine Titles and a win over another experienced fighter that poses very different problems then Darchinyan, Martinez, Sidorenko or Montiel. Agbeko is far more proven than any of the possible opponents at 122, so as far as I am concerned I want to see that fight over WV2 who I consider inexperienced and unproven.

 

I think Donaire is on another level from both Agbeko and Mares. Did you see the post fight interview last night?
Scary how Donaire admitted he allowed Montiel to hit him so he could gather more intel on him before going for the kill:shock:

 

I agree very interesting that, I think that he has the best reflexes and speed in Boxing right now even better then Mayweather. But who below 126 could realistically challenge him, Rigondeaux eventually could and should but not right now.

 

I think in a few fights time Rigondeaux will take Donaire to school

 

I'd favour Rigo to win a decision against him also. People are underrating him because of his last performance.

 

Moreno is overrated by everybody who hasn't actually seen him fight.

 

What has impressed me is how easily he stepped up. Vic has really struggled but he has done it effortlessly. Rigondeux is already 30 and I don't he'll be ever be ready. I was expecting him to be better last time out and he's not going to improve fighting guys like Casey

 

I have seen two of his fights, I would say yes and no to him being overrated. He is very awkward, wily and defensively sound but he poses barely any offensive threat, he isn't the most exciting Boxer around but he would be a decent addition to any elite fighters resume and it would be interesting to see how Donaire or any of the other top Bantamweights dealt with him.

From reading recent articles, I am worried for Moreno sounds like he is losing interest in his career.

 

I agree poor matchmaking, Casey should be taking on Martinez and Rigondeaux should be facing experienced fringe contenders that act as gatekeepers to the Top 10.

I think after his last performance Top Rank were very disappointed, it wasn't so much how close the fight was it was more the fact that he was so passive for large spells, didn't listen to his corner and he looked very lethargic.

I think Top Rank aren't very interested in him, he will never be a big ticket seller as shown by Gamboa, why else would they let him take a fight in Ireland against an unknown fighter. But the Casey fight is a poor one that will not help him progress at the fast rate he needs to, in fact if he wins well it will probably leave him were he already was before the fight. They should have taken him back and stuck him on Top Rank Live, ESPN2 (They have a date the day before Pacquiao-Mosley) a PPV Undercard, against a fighter that is experienced and will bring the best out of him, someone like Giovanni Caro, Jorge Arce (would be more interesting then WV2-Arce IMHO), Jonathon Oquendo.

 

I've seen him fight five times, he's good, but he'd lose to Donaire, Montiel and everybody in the bantam tourney, without question. He's good, but he's too predictable, which he shouldn't be, considering his style.

 

I agree his movements offensively and defensively were the same. It would take a 3-5 rounds to work out, before then it would be interesting and then it would be interesting if they could get to grips with him.

 

I dont know where people are coming from when they call him ''elite'', because he's not, he's a good fighter, but that's it. He has no variation in his punches, his straight left is too predictable, he's good at slipping single, lunging punches but he's badly exposed to any kind of follow up punch, he wastes his jab and throws it with no authority, despite his usual advantages in height and reach and is dangerously susceptible to a right hand.

Just some things I've picked up on. I know you can pick holes in anybody, but I think Moreno's in particular dont serve him well in any way against other top fighters in the division.

 

His jab made me laugh, it is more of a twitch then a forceful strong jab that has authority. He has a very strange style, I would be interested in seeing him against an elite fighter just to see how they deal with him and vice versa.

 

Good shout. I think Arce would have been perfect for him. He was always on ESPN (Teddy sure loves him) so I think a few fights back there would be good for him too.
