According to The Scene, Harry Joe Yorgey has been mentioned as a possible opponent for James Kirkland on the Maidana-Morales undercard, given Kirkland wins his fight scheduled for March 5th and Yorgey wins his fight scheduled for February 25th.

Pretty ballsy (or foolish) move by Yorgey, especially after what happened to him against Angulo.

Well, circle the date. Two more Knockout Of The Year candidates to challenge Donaire-Montiel on one night (one card, no less).

Two Executions in one night, what else could you ask for?

What's the round that Yorgey gets carried out on a stretcher?

As of today - we have not been contacted by Kirkland's camp. Any report to the contrary is 100% false. However, Harry Joe has been training hard to make sure that he is in the best shape to contend for another world title shot. The negative comments in the forum world only fuel his fire so please keep them coming. We will look at fighting anyone who we feel we need to fight in order to win that elusive world title. Stay tuned...

At least Yorgey would be a live body which is more than I thought Kirkland might face on that card. For a fight to open up a ppv show its better than most. Kirkland will probably run over Yorgey but he's a nice opponent with everything considered.

sad but true. On another note, how sick would a potential Kirkland/Angulo fight be?

I'll address this once and that will about do it for my input on this thread - Harry Joe Yorgey has only one loss - albeit a decisive one to Angulo. He won't hide from that fact. He has taken steps forward in every fight he ever fought. During his long layoff, Harry has redefined his boxing style, rededicated himself to his craft and resculpted his body so that he is ready to fight ANYONE who we decide as a team is strategically necessary for him to go through to win a world title. We will not fight anyone just for a payday. However, if James Kirkland is in our path to winning a world title then we will consider taking that fight. But to be very clear - no one from the Kirland camp has contacted me regarding any potential fight.

You know, Yorgey has been given plenty of supportive comments, yet you only ever address the negative ones. You aren't going to get him many supporters by continually responding to people who discredit him and say they ''fuel his fire'' and not responding to people who genuinely wish the guy well. I hope he knows he has some people who hope he has some success, because that should encourage him more than people who want the opposite.

I agree that HJY gets alot of support, however in this thread - which is what I was dealing with at this time, he was not given support. Therefore I addressed it accordingly. Please do not think that we are not appreciative of the kind words, the prayers and the well wishes. HJY is proud of his fan base and we look forward to properly thanking all of them with a world title. Thank you for reminding me that there are still some out there who understand that HJY is a great fighter and a great person.
