I think its shocking that you would classify him as a hype job... Will you get off the wagon if he looses to Mares?

PBF at 130, but even he didn't exactly have one punch KO power

Sorry for my smugness BUT it gets tiring analysing something only for it to come into fruition and then everyone else turn around and do a Emmanuel Steward, 'It went exactly how i thought it would'.

Not really. In tearms of skill set.... JMM, Mayweather, & B-Hop are a cut above.

I picked Donaire by UD. Montiel had an 8 pound weight advantage in the ring and was landing some shots in the 2nd. Then in happened. Donaire was just studying Montiel's positioning.

I wasn't shocked at the KO. I was shocked at the brutality of Donaire's left hook and the momentary convulsions it caused on Montiel.

To answer your question, no i was not shocked. Anyone who tries to apply pressure without defense on a fighter with exceptional timing and deadly accuracy is doomed.

That's where I'm at with him. Plus I saw him winning this by stoppage, I just never thought he'd do it anywhere near that quickly. The only shock factor was the manner in which he took Montiel out.

Absolutely ridiculous! However it would be nice if he could get up to featherweight to take on Gamboa..lopez and caballero.

Nonito Donaire might now finally get the shine he had deserved since he blasted that cocky darchinyan away

Yes, I was shocked, I was rooting for Montiel, but told people around me that Domaire was the favorite for a good reason. I just never expected Donaire to put Montiel out even better than he did against Darchynian. It was very shocking to me.

He's tall but not huge. Montiel outweigh him by 8 lbs during the fight night.

I pictured him stopping montiel from accumalation of punches and montiel's corner throwing in the towel. I thought donaire would be going in and out side to side. Didn't see it ending so soon.

People can give me **** for labelling him a hype job, I deserve it lol.

Least I can admit I called something terribly wrong.

As for the dude talking about dicks and mares; I wouldn't call myself a fan of donaire, I just really appreciate his skillset. So if he lost I wouldn't appreciate it as much. Especially if it was mares he lost to!

And the dude saying he isn't defensively gifted, he bloody well is. Them reflexes combined with his timing and anticipation make it so. I fully believe him saying montiel's success in round 2 was purely down to him allowing him success so he could weigh up his left hook.

In terms of p4p right now I have it:

Pac(not for long if he carrier on with joke fights)
Floyd(not for long if he stays inactive)
    Donaire
    Martinez
    Hopkins
    Jmm

No, not surprised at all. I knew Montiel fans would eat their **** talk on this one.

If you were shocked or if it took you until last night to realize Donaire is the goods, I'd say you do not have a keen eye for recognizing obvious talent right in front of your face.

Donaire is no worse than the 5th best fighter in the world, and I personally believe you are living in nostalgia if you would still place JMM ahead of him. If you broke down their wins as such, which would you take for P4P #3?

    Donaire 26-1
Elite, HOF* wins: TKO2 Montiel, KO and Upset of the Year TKO5 Darchinyan
Good wins: Sidorenko, Mthalane (underrated victory), Martinez, Maldonado

    Martinez 46-2-2
Elite, HOF wins: KO of the Year KO2 Williams, UD12 Pavlik
Good wins: Draw with Cintron, Roman, Bunema

*= obviously, I mean HOF caliber wins. Example, Kostya doesn't have a win that stacks up to these...

I wasn't suprised that he won, I was a bit suprised at how early, but overall he did what the majority expected him to do. Great performance from a great fighter, I agree with some that the hype is getting a bit out of hand but that isn't his fault. Great win/Great fighter.
