That he looked really good last night, obviously was much more committed to his game plan and it was a really nice bounce back effort. I think he'll end up being a strong contender in the WW division. His progression was impressive.
Glad to him coming up. The welterweight division and light middlewight will look nice in a few years with Kell Brook, Jones, Berto, Khan, Alverez and maybe Benavidez being around
I was pleased w/ his performance but I thought he shouldve doubled up on his punches and let his hands go & I think he wouldve stopped soto karass
How was this fight impressive, he ran the whole ****ing fight against a c- fighter. He won't last against the top guys at 147.
I mean he did what professional Boxers do, he circled away from the man's power hand, used movement to frustrated Soto Karass make him ineffective essentially taking away the only chance he had to be in the fight, busted him up, and dominated the fight from the opening bell to the end...other than that I guess he didn't really do anything to be impressed with.
In looking at the two guys build, it certainly would surprise me if someone would say that, I haven't actually held the mits to question the man who has. That being said hitting mits and generating "power" in training and doing it in the ring can be different obviously. So obviously Hearns has done more in the ring, but just hitting mitts I could believe Jones hits harder...I mean look at the dude.
mike jones is good but im not sold on him yet. he was deffo better boxer the soto karass but when jones steps up his comp i dunno if hes gunna b able to beat a game fighter. it seems like sum one who can keep applyin pressure and not get tired they will b able to beat jones . jones punchin power doesnt impress me n i can see him lose fights at the end by fighting scrappy fighters that make the fight dirty
Fighting on the outside and making a guy who likes to come forward move towards you and into your shots is not running away.
I would agree with you about the pressure fighters who just keeps coming in the way S-K did/does, only with more speed and skill giving him problems. BUT they would also have to have the willingness of S-K to eat all the punches he ate to get there, and not get frustrated when Jones is moving as much as he did last night. I would have liked to see him let his hands go a little more as someone above said, but I was still impressed with the improvement he made from fight to fight. It at least demonstrated a willingness to get in the gym and work at it which tells me that he can still improve. He's not ready yet, but he could/will be at some point, in my opinion.
back then they didn't want him, now he's hot, they all want him i said back then they didn't want him, now he's hot, they all want him i said back then they didn't want him, now he's hot, they all want him i said back then they didn't want him, now he's hot, they all want him
