I've been saying that Donaire is a special talent since 2007/2008 So if we had a back and forth, it was probably me saying that he still had areas of his game that he could improve. And I think I turned out right because he has improved since then.
well, its nice to see someone turn a leaf vs their excessive biasness... here's a few hinters to not look like a ****ING ****** in front of all of ESB.... 1 - dont talk ****, dont talk for your favorite fighter, cuz no one has ANY control of them except themselves. You have ownership of NOTHING. 2 - Do your homework and watch the fights before even opening your mouth around here. Get familiar with a fighter's history, his record, who he fought, and how well he performed against them. You'll need it to back yourself up.... 3 - Dont pick fighters with your heart or your dick. Its emo & stupid & immature. It makes you biased for emotional reasons, not practical objective reasons. Thats why we have *******s & *****s posters. All their "objectivity" is nullified cuz its always from an emotional/attached slant. These emotionally-attached fools usually come off pretty extreme, radical, and rather irrational. 4 - Dont be inciteful by being racist & generalizing races. No one respects a ****ing drama & attention ***** - dont be one or i'll ****ing call you out as you are. Men post here, not teenyboppers. 5 - When analyzing fights, try to watch it objective and unbiased. Look not only for the apparent strengths, but also the weaknesses. Being analytical helps you become more objective and leads to understanding the nuances of a boxing & fighting.
Not at all. I was on the edge of my seat from the opening seconds kind of expecting him to do something like that. If you'd seen how he operates in the ring you'd know he was a gifted fighter, and certainly no hype a job.
i feel his improvement picked up cuz he got away from his father in 2008. You can only expect a person to be so good being with 1 coach for so long. It does depend on the coach's capabilities. But alot of fighters are served better when moving on to another coach, and explore other sides of them that wasnt tapped before, which may get them to their next level... I feel Nonito Donaire's improvements since then was because of the coach change....
Shocked it ended that fast. Cause i always give the underdog the benefit of the doubt in a fight. Considering all the advantages and the skill set of Nonito, i have high regards to Montiels capabilities. Both of them knew it would end in a KO, i just didnt think it'd be in 2 rds.
I thought this was a 50/50 fight going into it, so I was definitely shocked in the manner which Donaire won. To just destroy a guy I had in my P4P top 10, was really amazing. It's been clear for a while that he has special talent but it was infuriating how his career stagnated post-Darchinyan. He needed a win like this to prove he's one of the very best fighters in the world. RJJ is quoted over on B-Scene as saying Donaire, Floyd and Pac are the top three fighters in the world, and that he sees something special in Nonito.
Like many I had montiel in my top ten p4p. Unlike others I also had montiel as a favourite going into the fight. I thought he would be able to catch donaire and seriously put the hurt on him. Ofcourse i'd seen donaire before and was impressed with his win over darch, but due to his career stagnating since then it was hard to continually rank him so highly. I was very impressed with the manner of his victory over sidorenko. And this win to me has underlined just how very good he is.
