I think you're confused because you aren't familiar with the bony structure of the face in that area. It isn't a solid mass of bone like the back of the skull. There's just a thin strip of bone in that area which is hollow underneath and surrounding. The rest is muscle and soft tissue. If that thin bone is crushed, the whole are will appear sunken. Google images of a human skull and it will make more sense.

To your point about gloves cushioning: Punching force is still being applied through your first two knuckles. Just because a glove has padding, or looks relatively large, doesn't mean the power will be that diffused. Accurate punchers are still aiming to land with their knuckles.

Interesting...what impressed me more is how Donaire actually came in weighing so much less than a rehydrated Montiel and looked spectacular, reminiscent of Pac weighing so much less than Margo coming into the fight and probably performed even better without much rehydration weight gain.

This just proves my point how no one should look negatively on Montiel after his showing last night...he is a warrior and should receive his credit for even stepping in the ring with so much at stake.

    God Bless, KO-chulito!!

Nonito looked spectacular because he's more athletic and he's a better skill fighter than Montiel, people always want to finger and point to something specific like, " he did'nt have to rehydrate."......

.....the explanation is simple, A great fighter beat a good fighter.

A great little man will beat a very good bigger man.

Why would you say something like this, as if you knew, when you obviously don't? Looking at your thread history you're always calling people 'dumb bitches' etc, you're a Khan fan and a *****.

I mean seriously, what kind of person just pops up and outright lies on a bbs full of people you don't even know, for no apparent reason whatsoever? What exactly is wrong with you?

Why would you seriously take a poster who copied someone's handle (obviously taken from Bladerunner)?

    He is an idiot.

I'm not taking him seriously, I'm trying to understand what's motivating him. I just don't get it.

Basically everything you say is right on this post but what I highlighted and made bigger...gave me chills too! When I saw Montiel trying to get up but his body not responding I thought the same thing..what a Warrior! He was willing to continue but his body was not responding. If you look at the replay, even his eyes go all white for a moment, he starts shaking mainly due to the fact that he wanted to get up real quick but his body did not.
