Killer instinct, Stamina and i doubt he'll survive against pressure fighters like Margo or even the likes of Maidana if they're both in the same weight. I don't think he'll win against any of the top 6 in his division. Clottey Margo Cotto Berto Mosley are way too much for him its not even worth discussing. As light a puncher karass is, Jones was basically on his bike the whole fight :good Ok you don't call it running but "slick-fighting" whatever crap hit but don't get hit bull****... :smoke

 

What did you think about his killer instinct in the first fight with Jesus

 

You call that killer instinct? That was Kill-Myself instinct atsch Jones thrown more than a hundred punches connected about 14 maybe only 8 of those are solid. Karass isn't even wobbling yet he kept throwing useless punches after punches after punches... He had Karass around the 10th round on the 2nd fight ready to be taken down yet he decided not to do it.. Jesus was bleeding badly that round and two or three clean punch would've ended the fight.. Heck, around the 8th round Karass was ready to go :good

 

I still have never seen the 1st fight all the way through (skipped the Pac-Margo PPV) but have seen highlights and heard many accounts of how he basically just blew his load and struggled on an empty tank the rest of the way...letting it get way closer than it should have been on paper.

Last night he showed pretty damn clearly that he's a few levels above Soto Karass (who I like a lot, ever since his Telefutura days...and who showed his heart for the world to see - but who's honestly never been more than a B- fighter).

Jones can only benefit from logging twenty-two rounds with such a tough Terminator-like mother****er. In terms of talent he was already one of the most promising welterweights and now he's got some very high level experience to help him begin to harvest that potential. The next year or two of his career will be very interesting to follow.

 

I know what you mean, but I think he realized in the first fight that Karass is a tough S.O.B. and just wanted to stick to the game plan. He mentioned a lot in the interview that he was trying to avoid a fire fight with him

 

As is Karass were that dangerous of a fighter? If he were that good then he should have been able to stop Karass, mark my words, he wont make it to the top at 147.

Besides, the beating Pacquiao laid on Margarito was replayed on HBO for my later enjoyment. :yep

Jones-Karass I was the only part of the undercard it was kind of a bummer to miss...especially since it seemed to turn out so competitive.

The rematch was not competitive, though. Jones proved what seemed obvious before last November - he's just got more dimensions and more ways to win. Soto Karass had one clear round (the 4th) and I threw him the 12th out of pity. Other than that, it was absolute dominance by Jones...using nothing but the jab in some rounds! :shock:

 

Question: Because Jones is a HUGE WW...If he moves up to 154lb and fights a True Jr. Middleweight, Would that 154lbs Fighter be accused of "Fighting a Smaller Fighter?"...Just curious, since that seems to be the overwhelming consensus about "Certain" fighters.:-(

And C'mon Man....I mean Mike Jones is 24-0. What the hell is he doing fighting guys like Munoz, Garcia, Brusseles, Pinzon and Karras twice....C'mon Man. He should've fought the Kessler, Froch and the Klitchko's in his first 12 fights.....RIGHT?:-(
