It pits an established, p4p champion, vs a young, up and coming p4p talent (Vargas was rated 9th or 10th by the ring leading up to this fight I believe) Trinidad was the power punching star and Vargas the ferocious young warrior looking to claim his throne. They met in a violent clash and the fight lived up to any, and all, expectations. Wow I'm astounded at how many is picking Vlasov to win. He's looked good against the poor opposition in which he's faced, and he's got good power no doubt, but IMO he wont be able to beat Chilemba. Chilemba has fought and beaten undefeated fighters the last year and a half. (though his last fight was a draw). He was a late replacement for Oosthuizen (With who he had a draw) to fight Bolling, a fight which he dominated. I think, and hope this guy will win again. He's a warrior! WAR CHILEMBA!! Chilemba UD
Cotto vs Mayorga I feel like this fight probably shouldnt be a featured fight but its going to be one of the rare exceptions, I just want to cover this fight. But I just really feel Mayorga is done.... and has been done for a long time despite his relatively decent showing against Mosley (which itself is starting to be awhile ago now) And IMO he looked completely done in his last fight.... so the writing imo, is one the wall, but we will see.
Aren't we 2-0 (1KO) ? You're right Kirk, Mayorga is done and it's beyond me how he could have been chosen for Cotto. However as will be the case with Pac/Mosley, it'll be fun to watch while it lasts.
Nice 'In the Spotlight' feature, Kirk :good If I get time, I wouldn't mind doing one on Taylor - Chavez or something like that.
