What has gone wrong in the career of Junior Witter? It's a strange one this. The man has been a world champ beaten some decent fighters yet somehow still manages after so many years in the game to look like he's never boxed in his life? How does that happen? ok he may have lost the reflexes but even then, to see him falling over and grabbing and throwing very ill timed shots just beggers belief!

Just what on earth went wrong? and don't tell me the guy has been crap and has no talent cos he's done some good things, but when he's been bad he's been shocking!

Very strange career he's had! how would you sum it up?

Call it a day; he should get out while he still has his senses.

Do you think Witter will go down in the category or never reaching his full potential?

I think he did OK with what he had. I think the fact he had spectacular KOs of Euro/ domestic level fighters on his record made people assume he was good enough to do it at world class but, a past it Corely aside, he wasn't able to.

dont know if could call a guy that won british, commenwealth, european and a legit world title of not reaching his potential was maybe unlucky had to fight to a underated Bradley at the time an maybe spent to long hanging around waiting for his shot , but was never going to do much more with his style

The reason why I ask is that lots of people think that Naz ver really reached his potential. I know they are different fights etc but I always thought that Witter could/should have reached higher levels, similar to Naz.

I don't think Witter was on a par skill-wise or power-wise with Naz.

I do think he found the other guy too much to handle and when he began to get inside, Junior was getting manhandled so began with his falling over antics as if to say the other guy is fouling him. I dont think 147 is for him. And at 140 there are younger hungry fighters. He's kinda stuck now He may now have gate keeper status if he keeps on, being a punch bag for the young up and comers.

Alternatively his only way back may be to entice a guy out of his semi retirement who goes by the name of Ricky, and hails from Manchester for one last hurrah, make a bit of money for the old pension fund and then sign off whatever the outcome. It's the only fight left for both Hatton and Witter I would say.

I never ment to compare naz and witter in terms of power and skill, more that they both didn't achieve what they could of with what natural skills they had.

I agree that the only fight left for Witter is Hatton and vice versa. It may be a few years late but I still think it would be interesting. Hard to say who would win

Witter should hang them up now. He's well passed it. Ex-world champ and had only lost to prime Judah, Bradley and Alexander. That's no disgrace. He should get out now with some credibility left.

put all his passed glory to one side that performance on saturday night was an embarresment to himself and to the sport itself if what we saw on saturday is an example of what he has to offer then he needs to stay well away from the sport.
he seems like a decent guy lets hope he enjoys a happy retirement
