Good move. He is the jewell in the Matchroom camp so there focus will be on him.

Spada is ranked no.7 by the WBC who have Barker no.5 so they should try and make it an eliminator of some sort.

Matchroom?! I hate matchroom they dont deserve their tv dates but lets see what they can do for Barker though he might have gone to Warren now he hasnt got Macklin surely Warren would have been sniffing around could have put him in with Paul Smith

That's just an indication as to how asinine the ranking system is that beating nobody of note can put you into the mandatory position.

I said nobody OF NOTE and in context of someone getting into a mandatory position to fight for a world title, Spada isn't a major victory. Guys like Lemieux, Chavez Jr and Geale are guys who you should have to be beating for it to be an eliminator. Fellow genuine contenders.

Spada's a good solid fighter and it's a step in the right direction for Barker, but it would be ridiculous if this was an eliminator.

Mick never had a ****ing clue. He ****ed up a quality stable of fighters. His hearts in the right place and he wants to go the traditional route and risk his fighters but he didn't understand business. Sounds a bit stupid coming from an armchair fan but his cards were uneventful, his tv negotiating was **** poor etc

Froch, Eastman, Murray, Barker, Fury, Thaxton, Witter, Daws... He should be ****ing huge.
