a good debate in my eyes.

personally i have donaire above martinez but would love to hear arguments for and against this placing!

my justification is that beating darch and montiel is better than beating pavlik and williams.

that being said, should martinez impressively dispose of dzindzuruk i'd rank him higher, atleast until donaire fights the likes of koki, agbeko, mares etc.

so what do you guys think, forget everyone else. just focus on these two amazing boxers who are now stepping up to the plate and taking out top level opposition.

who ranks higher p4p: donaire or martinez?

Martinez, I have him number 2 now, if we count Floyd in he is number 3 and donaire is number 4. Lets not forget that while donaires ko was very impressive and he has good skills, so has sergio and his ko of paul williams was just as impressive, lets not forget he was a underdog in that fight and so was he in the pavlik fight. He deserves the ede a good win over dzinziruk will only seal his spot.

I've went for Martinez, it's close though and Donaire could quite easily surpass him.

I agree that a way over dzindzuruk would be very impressive for martinez.

interesting points about being a favourite. i think a lot of people expected him to beat williams (UD) but none expected him to beat pavlik.

Martinez clearly for me. Over the past few years, he's consistently faced high level opponents and arguably beat them all. Donaire's victory over Montiel might be more impressive than any of them individually (I don't agree), but in my opinion it was also his first real challenge in three and a half years.

Not to mention you have to take into consideration the total amount of fights theses guys have had. It is a lot harder to have a large quantity of fights and then get robbed with cintron, fight back and beat 2 p4p guys.

    easily Martinez for me.

I had Paul Williams at number 3/4 p4p in the fall and Martinez blew him out. Add that with his win over Pavlik and there you go.

add to the fact also that the darchinyan win happened ages ago.

martinez's ko of williams was awesome, I have never rated kelly pavlik that high, I've always found him to be a limited fighter. That being said, Montiel was ranked #1 in the bantamweight division and on a few top 10 p4p lists, and donaire dismantled him, its an even toss up, either way I would be happy if he was 3 or 4.

I have Martinez at #4 and Donaire at #5. I rank Sergio ahead because he's been facing good opponents consistently while Donaire was fighting a lot of horribly over-matched guys in between Darchinyan and Montiel.

Martinez has been set up to lose pretty much every time and either wins or forces shady Decisions in fights he should have won.
