Great KO by Donaire, But it wasn't a check hook!

    It was full fledged counter hook, that he threw with his feet planted and with a lot of power. Look at how he planted and twisted his body into the shot. It was a beautiful power shot, but it wasn't a check hook. Floyd threw his hook while moving backward, and turning away at the same time. It's not designed to be a power shot. Two completely different kinds of punches.

    i agree with you..

    check hook, fish hook...

    nonito's was more devastating and definitely more impressive.

    lol@ nine rounds with ricky hatton.

    floyd's achievements keep getting smaller and smaller with other fighters recent successes

    Only in the eyes of people who hate him and will never give him credit anyway. I'm not saying that Floyd has the greatest achievements in the history of the sport, but he's done some special things, and had several fights where he was accussed of ducking, then when he schools the guy, it was a cherry pick. With that kind of finicky hindsight, and hating, can you really blame him for not giving a **** what people think.

    And emmanuel stewart who's been training world champions longer than I've been alive said that Matinez knocked out Williams with a right hand when it was a left. Commentators make mistakes. I respect Roy jones but he was incorrect.

    A check hook is thrown while moving backwards and turning away. Donaire had his feet planted and put his whole body into that hook. It was a beautiful, brutal, powerful KO but it wasn't a check hook.

    nonito went up in weight and whooped the champs ass.

    mayweather made ricky hatton come up in weight.

    big difference.

    Hatton didn't have to move up, he just had to cut less weight. Floyd was the undisputed p4p champ, but you think he was supposed to move to Ricky's weight class. How does work? You call out the champ in a higher division, but then he's supposed to come down to face you?:huh



    Floyd moved up through 5 different divisions and "whooped the champs ass":deal

    Correct it wasnt a check hook! But whatever, it was a great shot nontheless!

    The Floyd hating is just insane now. It's like somehow they think this Donaire win puts a slight on Floyd? These kids wouldn't even know what a check hook was unless it was for Floyd.

    Do I need to remind some of you haters of Hattons weight in between fights? "Coming up" isnt technically the correct term! More like coming down......less!

    Check hook means your opponent will hit the ring post. Floyd's is a check hook. Hatton hit the ring post after the hook. :)

    and a counter left hook is now a check hook.
