is p4p based purely on the above?achievment wins performance are a big factor yes .but ask yourself a question based on a bit of common sense.could degale beat any of the top 10 and the answer for me is yes!

 

theres no common sense in having DeGale top 15. He has 1 win, which was dominant over a domestic level fighter. We know Smith is a domestic level fighter because his previous 2 domestic fights were struggles.

Thats not what rankings are based on. Has to be done on actual fact and that means ahcievment, wins and performance.

Could DeGale beat some of the top 10, yes, has he done it....No. If you go by that you would also have Frampton, Quigg etc in there.

If you go by that rule DeGale and Gavin would be P4P top 10 in the world.

there is always a bit of fantasy involved with p4p though,dont u think?ive never been 100% stats mad.if it were as cut and dried as that WHY START THE THREAD?

 

I don't necessarily agree with Burns being automatically number 4 in the rankings. Yes, he has a good win and a 'world' title (in what most people think is a baron division), but is his record/performances/potential better than, for example, Cleverly? In my opinion, I don't think so.

 

I didn't start the thread.

When it comes to rankings I take it seriously. They have to be based on Performace, Wins and Achievment before anything else.

A fighter potential is purley based on opinion until he actually fights someone at a higher level, you cannot rank him above those fighters that have won and competed at that level. As James DeGale says boxing is all about levels.

 

i think Burns and Cleverly are very close. Certainly if Cleverly beats Braehmer he goes 4th.
