What should the mexicans feel about Robert Garcia after Montiel-Donaire fight?

    He is mexican training a filipino fighter and was jumping with glory after montiel got his ass knocked out.

    thoughts?

    This should be a non-issue. Nonito chose Robert Garcia because he is probably one of the best trainers that live in close proximity to Nonito's hometown of San Leandro, CA. Freddie Roach would have been a good option too. I believe Robert Garcia has trained 3 other Filipinos. He mentions it in one of Sechbacks pre-Pac-Margarito videos. Garcia says good things about Filipinos as boxers and people. He's a good guy.

    Technically speaking, Nonito Donaire and Robert Garcia are both American citizens.

    García is not Mexican, actually, he's US American. He won his championships for USA and feels US American...It's not a if it was Beristáin.

    garcia is a good trainer, he doesn't just train mexicans, he has trained brian viloria and joan guzman, he doesn't teach just one style either.

    plus he's known donaire since the amateur days.

    2-3 years ago i remember an interview with garcia, he was asked who his favorite fighters were and one of the names he mentioned was miguel cotto.
