I hated his cocky ass but he freaking had KO power. I was cheering for the flashing flash kevin kelley andd nas knocked him the **** out. The augie sanchez fight was brutal but i love how barrera dominated him:lol:

First of all, Hamed has been retired for years and is barely talked about compared to some more recently active fighters who cop unreal amounts of hate on ESB (ie Calzaghe).

Second - the more of Hamed one sees the more apt one will be to hate him. Hating him has nothing to do with not acknowledging his ability. He was pretty capable in his day with his awkward style, speed and power. He beat some decent guys. He was a very good scalp for MAB at the time. I ****ing cheered like hell! :yep - exactly because I had seen him before and was sick to death of seeing his smug mug after he beat up on one overmatched opponent after another (which is not meant so much as a knock on his competition; he was indeed a bit of a beast).

He'd win more fantasy match-ups against HOFers if he'd ever, you know - learned the fundamentals of boxing. He was capable without ever doing so, which is remarkable - but the fact is that better schooled boxers throughout history in his weight range would have a clear edge. That's why he isn't tipped - not just out of hate (which, again - was and is justified with his whole princely attitude).

Any fighter worth making a fantasy match with probably WOULD kick his ass. Nobody makes fantasy matches with B level fighters.

Naz stepped up to an A level fighter, got his ass whipped, and immediately retired. If you're unhappy with how he's viewed today, take it up with Naseem. He did it to himself.

Well don't make it out to be a Muslim thing. Any boxer who flaunts their religion tends to give the secular majority of fans a bit of an ass rash. Look at "SOG", etc.

jews, christians, etc doesnt draw the red flag as much as muslims do. tbh, a lot of suicide bombings has left a bitter taste to the mouth to a lot of people. justified or not, its just the way it is.

Arrogant ***** annoyed me, he had an unusual athletic ability that overcompensated for his lack of skill....I respect what he did in the ring, for what he did outside of it, well he is still a panzy any way you slice it.

    :good

HE disrespected his fans when he would take forever to come out for bouts, people who paid money...for what? To stroke his own ego.

    :good

    Exactly

In his prime Naz was an exceptional fighter. Just like Hatton and Calzaghe, he fought at his best before he went to America. He left it a touch too late to show his best form

Naz would have been the first boxer ever to unify a division if it wasn't for boxing politics. Well before the Barrera fight he was starting to lose the love for boxing, especially after his children were born

Everyone should remember Naz as an exceptional fighter, who lit up the sport and brought loads of new fans to the sport.

I feel he should be in the hall of fame.
