I really don't think Hatton stands much of a chance...Alvarez is too strong and simply better than Matthew, but good luck to him! A freakin' miracle that's what. Unless I'm very much mistaken about both fighters abilities, the only reason I can see Saul lose is because of the "prospect of the year curse" that seems to be floating around for the last couple of years. I've seen the last couple of fights of both boxers, and although I'm impressed by Matt's progress, he's in over his head. If Hatton wins, it's because of injury or a lucky punch... very remote chance.
I've never really rated Matthew Hatton but you can't deny that he has worked hard to engineer this shot. However, Alvarez looks like a talented fighter and I can't see Hatton making the end of the fight on his feet. He'll put up a brave effort initially but be outclassed.
maybe hatton could outbox him for a few rounds. alverez looked real slow and laboured in his last fight. i guess it depends on how well hatton can take a punch and give one out.
He didn't... He "earned" a shot at Alvarez' "silver" title (read an easy defence for the Mexican holder), but then the fight got upgraded after they stripped the "full" WBC champ. So Matty finds himself suddenly in titleshot position. :yep
Hatton has to be given a shot.Not a great one but he does have a chance.The Mexican ginger is only 20 years old and has a very leaky defense so Hatton at some point will crack him.If Hatton can't hurt him he will be in huge trouble,however.
Hatton has done well for himself - I never expected him to have as much success as he has with the little natural skill and ability he has. I really can't see a way for him to beat a bigger, stronger, more skilled opponent - it would be a major upset.
