Great attitude, but Frank will (rightly!) not allow you to do that.

The way i read Theophane's statement is one of two things:

    (i) he's bigging up a fight with Frankie to earn more $$; or
(ii) he wants a couple of "easier" fights to earn some money before getting in a ring with Frankie.

To be fair, I kind of understand. Theophane is (almost) in a position to call the shots at the moment and he's unlikely to be in that same position again. If the reason for the statement though is (ii) then he needs to be very careful. If he's beaten before he meets Frankie then that's his payday down the river.

All in all though, sensible if annoying position from Theophane.

Oh, and Frankie destroys him if they do eventually meet.

How can anyone say frankie wins easy with having only seen Frankie in with a handful of fighters, the likes of which have nothing in their arsenal to test him? Look how people raved about Mitchell after he beat Prescott, having previously feasted on domestic journeymen, then going straight for Katsidis. And we all saw what Katsidis done to him. He's not been the same since. Sometimes you can make the step up far too soon and when you begin to believe in your own hype too soon, it can be the downfall of many a talented fighter.

Absolutely Frankie can win this, he's very talented and I enjoy watching him fight I think we got a potential world champion here. But no way is this an easy fight. I wouldn't mind to see it, but I can understand Theophane's position. It is a fight that carries some risk for both fighters and would tell us where each guy is at in their respective careers.

According to Boxrec, Theo is fighting Michel Trabant for a poofy title in Germany in June ( The International Boxing Organization Inter-Continental light middleweight title)

This true? I mean Light middle?

It might be provisionally put for then but Theophane fights regularly and often his fight schedule changes according to whatever opportunity arises

Theophane is clearly a confident guy. Theres no way he is thinking he will deffinatley lose to Gavin infact he is pretty confident of winning (different to any opponent he has had so far) he is just trying to make it a more valuable fight.

everyone makes mistakes. plenty of people slagged of Haye for fighting Valuev instead of Vitali but he made £3million more.

Who would he fight in an eliminator, would it be Jason Cook?

  13. That wasn't to do with money though. It's because everyone wanted to see Haye fight Vitali after how much he called him out.
