**** both of you. if you dont score african american black slickness that i dont know what to say. Young outpointed and outpunched Ali, Norton, Dokes, AND SHAVERS. That's 4 more solid wins to his already decent resume.

...I feel he was leading on the cards against Cooney based on that. Cooney wouldn't have been able to do anything to win BUT knock him out, based on that criterion.

:lol:And me, red cobra, and tommygun will run you out!

You have Wlad lower than Vitali? Interesting. I think the general consensus is to have Wlad higher especially since Vitali had his 3 year break and Wlad was still fighting in between those years.

    :dealTell 'em!

 I don't know about Dokes but I do agree that Young deserved the decisions in the other fights you brought up. Before Norton started hurting him to the body he was getting schooled. Even after then Young still made him look bad and did enough to win. To each his own if they think Norton won but I thought Young was more effective. The Ali fight was a robbery and the Shavers rematch was a bad decision too, Young won it.

true, a stoppage would be a hard thing to get over Jimmy, I was thinking of stamina but Jimmy Young was one guy who with elbows, arms and hip and shoulder movement that may defy Joe Louis's line " he can run but cant hide"

Young didn't have Ali's resilience and Frazier floored Ali and gave him hell in the third fight resulting in Ali's losing his consciousness after he was declared the victor as a result of excessive puffiness around Frazier's eyes.
If that's what Frazier did to Ali , he would have beaten Jimmy Young , and considering the men Frazier stopped , a stoppage win by him over Jimmy Young is a realistic possibility .
So I pick Frazier to beat Jimmy Young.

joe frazier was the worst match for boxers... he had the stamina, the courage, the chin, the pressure style, the strength, the hitting power, he was a great body puncher, he was stronger late, actually i pick prime frazier 70-71 to beat any stylist in the history of boxing. he would beat peak ali 1/3 fights and he would beat peak holmes 2/3 fights if not 3/3. ali is the exception. it is not even close, prime frazier would beat jimmy young 100% every fight. ali71 was by far better than jimmy young in every department

  7. In one opinion,
u wud have to give Frazier the edge.
    If Frazier Had Enry's Hook,
    He Wud End Young Immediantly.

There's not too damned many in the annals of boxing that would have been as effective vs my man Jimmy Young as joe Frazier and Marciano..perpetual motion aggressor types that wouldn't be discouraged.

Just imagine what a 1969 Joe Frazier would have done to Muhammad Ali.

In comparison, Jimmy never fought an opponent with a style like Joe Frazier.

A true evaluation, see Joe versus Eddie Machen (1966) or Jimmy Ellis (1970).

Styles makes fights, we all know that.

But due to Young's superior slippery defense and chin to Machen and Ellis, I think he would go all 15 rounds.

PROBABLY ALI 69 would have been the best version of ali, so he would have beat any version of frazier 2/3 fights, like i said, ali was the exception. snd joe frazier 70-71 was better and stronger than frazier69.
