If you think that a fighter who dominated the heavyweight division for 12 years, would be an easy asignment for any fighter who ever drew breath, then something is wrong.

He would have a hard time catching Pastrano, that's for sure. Would really like to see him against Johnson and Liston. Louis is the favourite here, though, probably even over Liston. But Liston's jab would surely ask some tough questions.

 

Louis knocks out every fighter on that list in his prime, although i think willie pastrano or harold johnson might have annoyed the living **** out of him, possibly squeaking a 10 or 12 rounder. Maybe. probably not.

actually didn't see him, but I think so, yes. Sonny's got underrated boxing skill and physically he's very good(with a big reach advantage over Louis). But Louis I think would be able to land his hugest bombs on Sonny since he wouldn't have to chase him...And if he's allowed to do so he can spark even some of the most iron chinned guys (Baer, Galento, etc).

The Uzcudun fight is somewhat rare, and Uzcudun was past his best. Wasn't it his final match?. Sure Louis destroyed an off and on Godoy in the 2nd, fight, but the first fight was close. In fact I have seen the footage of most of the rounds, and Godoy looks to have won more of them.

The best fighters Louis beat were Schmeling, M. Bear, and Walcott. I hope we agree more or less here. However, Schemling is 1-1 vs. Louis, and Walcott was in fact robbed of a decision. Bear was stiff slow, and scared in that match, and very easy to hit.

The other top level fighter Louis fought were Conn, who exposed him in a loss, Charles, and Marciano. Throw out the Marciano fight. Charles pitched a near shut out over Louis. Older or not, I think it shows Louis had defensive issues, and was far from a dynamic stalker.

Because Louis had great hand speed, power, and offensive skills, he could beat anyone...,but I think his chin, defense, and footwork are merely average by the standard of lineal champions, and his size would be a handicap post Marciano to present in most fantasy match ups.

Easy pickins? NO Way. Beatble, heck yes.
