What in the world is going on with this guy? 11 fight win streak after his first stoppage loss to the hands of Solis where he weighed 286. He has two stoppages in a row and weighs a career low 232 his last fight. Is he training and eating better than he ever has in his whole career? Is his power coming from speed? Or is he hitting harder?
A recent interview said he was trying to get down to cruiserweight, which would be remarkable. He's fighting journeyman, bums and tomato cans and I haven't seen any of the fights so I can't say if he's any better or showing any more power. But it sounds like he's eating and training properly now which can only be a good thing. Good luck to him.
100% TRUE The guy is managed bad. Look at his record, not bad looking at all, just all bums the only guy is seen good was solis:deal
his chin is good and his punch is nothing special power wise, but he is a top rated pro that wants to fight the best that will put there hand up to fight him. He fights bums because he fights often and no one else seems interested in his high ranking or getting beat by him. I give the guy a pass when it comes to wanting to fight the best out there. Chauncy is a feather fisted bum that feeds of off Z-level opposition in wedding reception halls and backwoods gymnasiums. Just because he holds some regional trinket, he thinks hes one step from a Klitschko fight, despite never winning against any top 100 contender. How he can be ranked by any major org in ridiculous. Also ridiculous is his continued calling out of a shot to hell, has been never was in David Tua. Welliver doesn't call out any live contenders, just cans and shot fighters. Kevin Johnson called Welliver out for the Holyfield undercard fight not long ago, Welliver claimed he was going to be on that card.....then dissappeared, he ran and hid from the "safety pin" Chauncy may have made improvements, but his garage band amateur management sure aren't moving him in a upward direction, probably just protecting him from another near KO loss and/or they can't muster the cash to pay anyone decent for him to fight again.
The guy has a lot more claim to a top ten ranking than Peter Mc Neely at least. McNeely has got to be the worst fighter ever to be rated in the top 10 at heavyweight.
**** off with this guy, he doesnt deserve space even in this forum. stick to fighting at tauranga leisure centre chauncey, where your last fight was, i went swimming there once.
Chauncy is improving every day in the gym as he works with the great Joe Hipp as his head trainer. He is dropping weight and improving his game with each fight. He also has a fantastic manager in Roland Jankelson, who led Pinklon Thomas to the heavyweight championship and also led Joe Hipp to his heavyweight title shot against Bruce Seldon. Chauncy has been calling out big names for going on I believe 2 years now, but none will accept; too much risk for too little reward. But that will soon change. As far as Kevin Johnson calling him out, he never did, that was just something he said for the media. The promoter of that card pulled a lot of fighters off the card, not just Chauncy, and I while I don't know the official reason for this, I must assume it was a lack of financial backing. Anyway, Chauncy has the heart of a lion, a chin made of granite, and good boxing skills which could cause many an upset in the big leagues if he is only given a chance.
