1966 was the year ali faced both cooper AND big cat williams. he was 201lb against cooper, he was at his physical peak and cut down as low as he could as a full grown man, anything above this was because he did less roadwork.

There was nothing, absolutly nothing natural about mike tyson.

Marciano went 49-0 overall, 7-0 (6) in HW World Title Fights, and 6-0 (5) vs Hall of Famers. Awesome.

He beat 3 Linear HW Champs... Louis, Charles x2, and Walcott x2.

He also beat Hall of Famer Archie Moore.

Holyfield has gone 43-10-2 (28KO) 1NC overall but he is still fighting at age 48. At one point he was 30 years old, 28-0 (22) overall and 10-0 (7) in World Title Fights. People judge Holyfield on what he did post age 30 all too often.

He beat 7 Linear HW Champs (more than any other HW in History)... Foreman, Holmes, Tyson X2, Douglas, Bowe, Moorer, and Rahman. He also drew with one (Lewis).

He also beat Hall of Famer Dwight Qawi x2 as well as many World Title Holders... Booze, Ocasio, DeLeon, Parkey, Thomas, Dokes, Mercer, Czyz, Ruiz, Botha.

H2H I say Holyfield in a very tough fight.

  6. Ol' Rocco has got to rank higher.
This is 1 legend who did beat several,
"greats". 1 Rocky did beat legend such as Louis, Moore, Layne, Charles, and Walcott, wat a resume,
these men may not have been "rpime" but they were excellent .
If Only Marciano Had Tested Punchers such as,
    Ol Henry' on his resume.
Admittedly, Ol Rocco has no punchers on his resume ,
Cooper wud have been an excellent name.
I question if Rocky Could take 1 h00k from a h00ker like cooper,
    it is quite interesting.

Cooper would have been ass whipped by Marciano mate, no sweat.

  10. M8, respectfully, I disagree ,
If "stylists", like Walcott and Moore can floor 1 Rocky,
Cooper might well KO him with 1 left h00k.
Cooper, with technical skill, and power,
a good combo, to face Rocky with.
I wud still pick Rocky to beat Cooper by cuts, it wud b his fate.:(

henry cooper himself always says he would not want to fight marciano, hes quite open about it. henry was a great ambasador for the sport and a class act inside the ring. A solid contender type - but thats it. walcott and moore brought a lot more to the table than sir henry, they just beat a lot beter fighters at a higher level.

Harry Greb, a MW, actually beat lots of top heavyweights. It can be done. It just isn't allowed. For all we know, Pacman might beat the Klitschkos, who are probably too slow to catch him.

Those HWs you named are perfect examples of how smaller men dominated against bigger men. Call them cruisers or whatever the hell you want, but they were smaller and dominated their bigger opponents for years on end.

  13. M8, Fighters r always going 2 b modest, tht is 1 way it is . He was more then 1 contender- a great elite fighter. Walcott and Moore were 2 "men",
who did not punch like Ol' Enry.
    1 Hook Flush ,
Marciano Wud Be In 1 Fight.

With all due respect to Marciano wern't Louis, Walcott, Charles and Moore all quite past their best when he fought them?

Surely Holyfield fought a greater number of high quality, near prime fighters than Rocky and achieved more in the sport overall?

First of all... I voted for Holyfield. I kinda hate lists but when I do participate I base it on who could beat who H2H... why would you base it on anything else, seriously why?

I will defend Rocky though. Marciano beat the best of his day.

Louis was past his best but had won his last 8 fights (3 by KO) vs. decent fighters like Cesar Brion x2, Freddie Beshore, Lee Savold, and Jimmy Bivins. Prime vs. Prime? Louis in a very tough fight.

Walcott and Moore were as good as ever when they fought Marciano despite their ages. I think Marciano beats them even if they were younger.

Charles was pretty well past prime when he faced Marciano though. Still, Charles gave Marciano hell. He really came to fight and was in great shape. Prime vs. Prime? Charles in a very close decision.
