how many fighters have went from rags to riches and held onto it? ie rocky graziano had a hell of a career after he quit the ring and made a ton of money on the other hand jake lamotta went from rags to ritches and back to rags. how many fighters can you mnae that ended up broke after their career and how many fighters can you name that kept their money from the ring and made more in the business world?
George Foreman went from rags to riches only and run into money problems during his first retirement and then he went to riches again.

Holmes has only enhanced his wealth, never had any money problems at all. As far as I know, Lyle and Shavers are doing ok right now.

shavers does dinners and signing but still works the a a doorman in liverpool yates bar so im guessing hes not that fianacially stable
L,your answer about my favorite heavyweight [co-joined with Joe Louis ], reminded me of the time I was walking on B'way past Dempsey's restaurant in the 1940s. There was several people staring through the window, so I looked too. There was the massive looking Dempsey, pinned ears,and still jet-black hair ,sitting at a table by the window. He turned towards us and waved with his left hand at us. The same hand that left-hooked 260 pound Willard to the floor at Toledo. What a feeling I had [as others too]. Ran home a few hours later and told my dad, about what i had seen. Dempsey was about 50 at that time, but he had an AURA,about him that said, "don't tread on me ". There will never be another Dempsey, or for that matter Joe Louis again. They threw away the mould...Cheers.:good
