I dont know how anyone can call him number 1 and claim to be a Boxing fan, fans like that are why Mayeather thinks its a viable option to do what he's been doing for the last few years, he knows he can do what ever he likes, and as long as he stays undefeated, you will still rate him as number 1.
The author lists all the opinions of so-called geniuses, but that's all they are - opinions. Mayweather does not believe anyone else's opinion because in his heart, he is afraid of Pacquiao. After all, he is the one that has to get in that ring to take the beating. The only problem is like the author rightly puts it, he is an alpha male who would rather run away than die against the new alpha male. But in doing so, dies a thousand deaths. In boxing, all his accomplishments has gone for naught, because nobady likes a coward. Michael Spinks was the undisputed, undefeated champhion at one time. When it was time to face Iron Mike, he faced him. He got knocked out of course, But nobody ever accused him of being a coward. He faced his fear and can look everyone in the eye to say that he was a man! Floyd will never man up, and thus will die a thousand deaths. This will haunt him until he dies if does not face Pacquiao wondering what could have been at his old age. He may even lose his mind obsessing about it. 42-0-1b chavez jr isnt a top 10 fighter either, Floyd has the best skills in the game but he doesnt fight enough to be ranked number 1, if he had beaten pac by now everyone would have him at 1. I think it stays that way untill he does or he needs to step up in competition, like beat martinez at 160 or something.
He is the best fighter in the world with Pac 2nd IMO but he doesnt deserve to be ranked at all because he has not fought since he beat Mosely... he needs to fight Pac this year & either retire or fight at least twice a year afterwards.
