it isnt to late though, I have the feeling that cotto can still be very great with steward he can be a huge force at 154 or even at 147 if he wants too just stay away from pac or mayweather and he is pretty much a very tough fight for anyone. Lets see cotto vs saul alvarez when he beats hatton.

I disagree, he'll still be a force in the division no doubt about that; but he's already battle torn

Good stuff here, thnx for sharing. I do want to add a bit to the whole Margarito-Cotto potential rematch. If they do fight again (which I hope they do) I think Cotto needs to find a way to land on Margo's body. He said he tried in the first fight, but couldn't. Hopefully with Stewart he figures a way out because without that I honestly see a repeat of the first fight. Cotto needs to look at the success Mosley and Pac had to the body and form a plan (I think counter punching there would be ideal) that suits his style and digg the body on the rematch along with effiecent movements that don't help Margo's punches take his legs away from him.

I thought Cotto boxed beautifully the first 6 rounds, but I don't think he fought his fight. Margo forced his will upon him, which Cotto isn't used to

Because he's old, fat, past his prime, had his chin dented by great fighters many years ago, and has no skills whatsoever.

    That isn't an excuse.

This is a **** win for Cotto if he gets it and a horrible, horrible, embarrassing loss if he loses.

has anyone noticed that everytime or almost everytime cotto stops punching and moves away he swtiches to southpaw when he moves and then switches back to punch? I personally see this as an issue and he almost turns away from Steward. I think he does this in fights as well and I think it's a detriment to his performance in the ring and an issue with his defence. Must be because he's a converted southpaw....

The problem with that was Margarito was working the body very well and anytime he had a chance to hit Cotto upstairs Cotto would back up instead of clinching. Body work will be good but its the clinching and making a dent in Margarito early. Its gonna have to be a big dent too. Pac broke his cheek bone in the 4th and Margarito never stopped pressing.
The man has an insane chin. Probably one of the best i have seen in my life.

Cotto is shot, he was given jello legs by Yuri Foreman. He should be fighting quality opponents at 154lbs, but instead he's fighting washed up, old fighters like Mayorga.

I tought he looked very good vs foreman a lot of people said he was battle torn and would lose a ud because of movement and speed from foreman.
Cotto is a great boxer, I see him beating margarito, alvarez, chavez jr, dzinziruk. guys like berto, angulo, williams are very tough fights and toss ups in my eyes. But cotto is with them on the same level just under the guys like floyd pac and even a 154 martinez who would beat miguel.

cool stuff man, your actually trained by a champ who got beat by pacquiao bet he has some cool boxing stories. You should post your name and boxrec here then we could track your carreer if yoru seriously planning to reach for the stars. Would be fun to have some pro boxers on here for a change. Allthough I do think there are some that are using a alt.

Using his right more with conviction, what I like to see.

Jello legs? When did this happen, pray tell? Which round?
