It's definitely possible. You've had Cotto-Pac already, and you could have: Juanma/Vazquez Jr-Donaire Abner Cotto-Mercito Gesta(unlikely, but if they both reach somewhere near the top of the lightweight division it's possible) Calderon-Condes/Casimero Seda-Francisco That's only a couple, I'm sure there's a lot more too, that's only off the top of my head. Cotto after the PR parade would be immense, but no way could I afford it. He'd be retired by the time I'll have saved up enough to go over, that's why I think Juanma or WV2 would be the most realistic.
the whittaker footage, brilliant stuff. if only he'd have got the nod vs chavez and oscar then called it a day.
No, he wasn't. Louis was only 7 years older than Robinson, started his career 6 years prior, and over a decade of their careers coincided with each others. Among Robinson's idols were Cuban Feather/Super Featherweight champion Kid Chocolate and Triple Crown champion Henry Armstrong.
In order to get a look at Gomez at his best you need to watch him in his early days at 122. From about 19 years of age until about 22 (or the time of the Zarate fight) he was one of the most beautiful boxer-punchers I've ever watched. Most tend to think of the latter, more power-happy version of Gomez when giving their insights on him. I'd say his fall from a technical stand-point was similar to that of a young Tyson in the late 80's compared to the post-prison version. In terms of ability, anyway, not style. They're hardly comparable there. Gomez was a beautifully smooth boxer with unbelievable legs, great upper-body movement and a complete offensive arsenal in his younger days.
I think Bentiez was a more complete boxer than Leonard and Hearns. In boxing the guy with the better skills/talent/abillity dose not always win.
