You think Tua would do it faster than Liston? :huh

tua would destroy patterson, floyd was the better fighter but robinson was better than foreman too, he was not even a hw, tua was much stronger, much heavier, much harder puncher, he had much better chin, tua by ko in 1-2 rounds. maybe in seconds.

I realy can't go with the consensus here.

Tua is one of the most over rated fighters on this forum.

Some people think that he was this wrecking machine and somtimes I think he was just a second rate fighter with a hard left hook.

i agree but against patterson ,tua would be a wrecking machine. patterson would not do that better than michael moorer did.

I agree. Tua is tua big and tua strong with tua much power for Patterson. The first body shot would stop Patterson from moving, and the first left hook to the head would finish the fight.

I am not saying that Tua wouldn't land something and close the deal, but honestly I would not bet any money on it.

Patterson was able to beat Johansen twice, Bonavena and Chuvalo. He dosn't automaticaly get steamrolled by anybody with power. Tua had prety short reach so Patterson would not need to come to him and could execute a mobile fight like he did against Chuvalo. These factors would all be in his favour.

You are right..it was Liston's body shot that started Floyd's quick demise.

Oh wow...another B fighter with power agaisnt Patterson thread.

    :tired

Patterson UD if he doesn't crack the fat man's skull first. Henry Cooper had a great left hook too.

I doubt it. I think it would be a good fight for as long as it lasted. In the end I do see Tua winning by KO though. Patterson would be a little taller with a slightly longer reach (nothing worth bragging about). Tua would be much heavier... anywhere from 30-60lbs.

Patterson was fast and had good power. He also had good overall skill. He went 8-5 (8KO) in HW World Title Fights, he was the first 2x HW Champ. 6' with a 71' reach and 185-195Lbs. at his best.

Tua stands 5'10" with a 70" reach and his best weight was between 225 and 245 Lbs.

Tua had amazing power in both hands thru the entire fight, his chin is awesome, and when in shape his stamina and punch output is very good. I think this spells disaster for Patterson.

If Floyd brings his confidence to the ring and leaves his fear in the dressing room, I can't see Tua winning no more than 4 rounds of a 12 or 6 rounds of a 15. Floyd's handspeed and combination punching would carry him here. I think Tua knocks him down and gives him a legit scare, but Floyd would win by UD.

Tua gets him inside 3 or Floyd boxes his ass off. I'll go with the latter.
