Apart from Pac, who can beat Floyd?

floyd right now, i am very unsure because i think he's a bit past it now, just a hunch, but i'd expect pac, martinez, khan to beat him.

prime floyd from his 130-135 days is very difficult to beat. my heart says naz, but my head says only greats from them divisions like duran and whittaker would have a chance.

 

Khan doesn't come close to beating the current version of Mayweather. The Mayweather that beat Mosley would stop Khan, and I rarely predict Mayweather to stop anyone.

Martinez would have the best shot besides Pacquiao, Mayweather would have to move up in weight again...and last time he was at 154, he looked very sluggish and lethargic.

Sergio Martinez and if PW is in good shape and can throw punches in bunches like he usually do then i could see him winning by a decision.

 

You put Andre Berto and Paul Williams but you didn't put Bradley or Khan?

Still miles between the two...different class at this point.

Khan is learning still, his defense is still shaky, his footwork is terrible...he only has an offensive jab (his jab is great, but he can't keep opponents on the end of it to stop their attacks), and his ring IQ is not great at all. These are the things Roach will be working on.

Mayweather hasn't shown any serious signs of decline at this point, he is a young 34 year old, and in his last two bouts, inactivity was probably the reason he got caught a couple times. Once he got caught, he couldn't be hit again.

Mayweather would time Khan's jab after 2-3 rounds, and Khan would have no reply. Think of the pull counter that Mosley received every time he jabbed, Khan's head would be rocked back in a similar fashion, but this time I'd expect Mayweather to stop him.

Khan needs to greatly improve, and Mayweather needs some serious decline with the assistance of inactivity. Only at this point do I believe Khan would stand a chance.

 

my hunch is, the decline has already begun. i'm saying his last great victory will be vs sugar shane. i can't see him having another.

 

I'm hoping the Pacquiao bout happens in November (which is the rumour)...Mayweather will have been out of the ring for over a year, but he's always in great shape. And if the bout is already scheduled for November, I'd expect them already to be working on a gameplan to beat Pacquiao.

 

i personally believe this year is the last that a meaningful fight could be made between the two.

it's already at a stage where it wouldn't have too much bearing on prime for prime, but it still means something because they are both still the best two welterweights and the best two p4p in the world.

i'd expect pac to blitz him tbh, catch him early and never let him off the hook.

floyd would really have to dominate with his jab early on to have a chance, and that aint gonna happen.

 

I only give Sergio a chance and Sergio isn't all that tight a Boxer. He looks great against the likes of Williams and Pavlik, but I would need to see him in with someone skilled to really judge.

 

Floyd would beat Sergio but it's a 50/50 fight with maybe Martinez having the edge

 

If the bout can't be negotiated, or negotiations havn't resumed by the end of 2011-early 2012...I don't see the point. Both should just retire. There will be no other "big" bouts for either at that point.

I still expect Mayweather to have too much, with him having the style advantage in my opinion. Mayweather will no doubt try to smother a great deal of Pacquiao's work...and once that straight right starts landing. I do think Pacquiao will catch him at some point though, Mayweather will do the exact same thing he did against Mosley, smother Pacquiao's further attempts to land, and recover very quickly again.
