Dont know about Bunce, but if I were a Boxing journo, I would call it as is, as I could not curb my natural reaction just to satisfy others, I have too much integrity to play the game your expected to just cause people would rather not hear the truth.

Sometimes controversial journos are more respected because they dont play the game.

They might have more respect but the lick arses get more work. That's the bottom line.

They keep defending him just like other idiot media in other countries worship and defend their national heroes. The Germans kissed Sven Ottke's ass and held him in the same regard as the great Max Schmeling when in reality Ottke's record was full of hand-picked low risk opponents and gift (borderline scam) home town decisions.

Every country's media loves their local heroes. It's what sells. People want to be sold the idea that their country brought forth some kind of international star. It's pathetic but it works.

Maybe they do, and even if you want to play that game, I think there is a still medium u can find, a line you can draw, where by your still hyping up certain fights, fighters, but not being blatantly biased, as that is what Steve Bunce does.

I dont think anyone who's blatantly biased as what Bunce's is, is going to necessarily going to get more work than someone who covertly is biased.

Sometimes you have a duty to speak the truth imo.

Coming from the guy that regularly bored the tits off everyone by posting updates from Dan Rafael's twitter, a guy who wouldn't know objective if it crawled up his arse and set up camp.

**** objectivity, he is a fan, his opinions are those of a fan. I am a fan of boxing, I can relate to that more than the statto Americans who bore the tits off me.

If I can get an interview with him (getting past Booth is a nightmare) I'd happily ask him about his HW career. I don't think many people would argue it's been a stellar run, and a disappointment compared to his very impressive cruiser campaign.

Controversial journos tend to get blacklisted pretty quick. No journalist, writer, whatever will choose integrity over their next meal. Simple economics.

There's a difference between being a truth-seeker and being Dan Rafael. Truth-seekers gain all the facts and present them for people to make their own minds up. The only agenda they follow is to be honest.

Rafael is a compete parasite even if some of what he says adds up. He is like the 3am girls of boxing good for gossip but not actually journo work.

in the US the best for that are Steve Kim, Kevin Iole, Tim Smith, Thomas Hauser..

He is payed and claims to be a journalist maybe he should start acting like one and actually ask the hard questions not just taking it up the ass to protect fighters from the U.K
