Marvis Frazier in today's heavyweight division

Marvis Frazier was an ordinary heavyweight of 200 to 212 pounds. His biggest wins were over a faded Jimmy Tillis in '85 and a slow but powerful Bones Smith in early '86.

If fighting today and at a peak age of 25, Frazier would be top-20, but not top-10.

I see the same thing. He definitely had the talent to beat good, solid opponents and be a top five-ten guy, but he'd still get crushed with one of the top 2-3.

Yeah, Chambers is quite respectable. When he's putting forth the effort, he can be pretty sharp. I'd like to see him give cruiserweight a go with the Cunninghams and Hucks. I think those could be really decent fights but as long as he can still outclass huge buggers like Dimitrenko, he's always going to have that notion that he might beat Wlad. Unfortunately for him...and us.

I don't think '85 Frazier could beat 2011 "Fast Food" Chambers or "Pillsbury Doughboy" Povetkin in a time machine. Them two dude's would be tuff for Marvis.

Top 5 today - BUT loses to VitKlit, WALDO, Haye, Adamek.

as a side note, that was the second frazier fight i ever saw...made me a fan of smokin joe (despite crushing the dude in less than a round)

 

marvis frazier would beat adamek for sure.. he would might well beat david haye. but he would lose 100% against vitali and wladimir.

 

I wouldn't be at all sure he beats Adamek. Not at all. I think he gets stopped in the early rounds against Haye. Maybe the first. Again.
