This is the only source I can find that mentions it that isn't a fans site or blog... It may be that the rumour has become so widespread that good people are repeating it as fact but no Newspaper in the World has reported anything which, considering how widespread this is, is bizzare.

 

Nope, this makes no sense. David Haye knows full well he has pissed off his fans to a massive extent. Now you're saying both he and Coldwell go on twitter getting very excited about an upcoming fight only to say 'gottcha. It's actually for a computer game lol'. Even he wouldn't **** with his fans to that extent.

 

He'll simply say that a joke was taken out of context but I hope you're right...

Well in a lot of peoples eyes every opponent is terrible because the division is terrible. The fact is in the last 2 years Wlad has fought the divisional number 3 (Chagaev, also unbeaten), had 2 divisional top 5 fighters in Haye & Povetkin pull out of fights with him (July 10 and Nov 10), has a fight lined up with another top 5 fighter in Adamek. How many other active boxers have had that many fights against the top 5 in their division?

If that is the case, his next PPV would flop beyond belief. Imagine it: he calls out the Klits for 2 years, signs fights with the pair of them before pulling out to fight a freak. Defend against an old man, then against a never was-been in Harrison. And just when the rumours of the fight with Wlad might actually take place as he goes on Twitter to announce it, it turns out to be a wind up and he'll fight Mormeck instead. Never mind him not having a legacy, him, Adam booth and his mother would be the only 1s in the o2!

Everything now points to the fight happening. The twitter accounts, Warren taking his May Sky date, even Fat Dan was forced to admit it's likely to happen.

 

So 2 fights with top ranked guys in 2 years? Well for one Haye springs to mind Ruiz and Valuev. Thank you and I claim my 5 pounds.
