Both very good. Tarver can seem kind of corny at times but makes great points. Roy is more in touch with what each fighter is thinking throughout the fight and the emotional aspect, but he can sometimes speak too soon. Overall, they are two of the best.

i do pay attention . roy annonced a good number of fights. n he is very fair n not racist 2 me at all not one single bit. that never even enters my mind where do u get this from. hes just a good announcer .

and RJJ i give him a slight advantage over tarver. RJJ is the only good one on HBO. SHO announcers are all good.

Tarver by a slim margain...Tarver is getting better he is working on his stuttering problem. Roys speech is sharper, but he has a bit of countryness to him, and he will say stuff like, 'he hit that cat wit a left hook' which doesn't sound too professional

    Lennox

Both RJJ and Tarver are fantastic...I enjoy RJJ's technical breakdowns and explanations as to what's going to occur as the fight progresses.

Roy still, but Tarver has been a very pleasant surprise.

In the Donaire vs Montiel Roy Jones was calling every hook a checkhook, he had everybody thinking that the Donaire counter hook was actually a checkhook, but other than that he's a good commentator...(he sound to ghetto doe) I'll go for Tarver

Christ... the "check hook" debate just doesn't die.

True though, if you were going to guess which one was a former crack addict by sound alone, you wouldn't guess Tarver.

Jones' breakdown usually rings true later in the fight and he points out the details others may miss. I think his country voice is pleasant and charming, not unprofessional; it makes it all the more poignant when he turns out to be right.

"It's those looopin' shots he's got ta wachout for!"

(Madaina clocks Khan with an overhand right)

Tarver. Getting sick of RJJ's evangelical crap. Last week he said that Mike Jones was 'demonstrating his christian faith' by beating up Jesus Soto-Karass, then had to spend five minutes walking his statement back. As if there's never been a great Muslim or Jewish fighter, and as if God wants one guy beaten senseless for the benefit of the other guy. Religion needs to be kept out of sports entirely.
