The Future of CUBA in the Pros, by Weightclasses. (List Inside) ***UPDATED/VIDEO***

Cuba conquistó dos de los cuatro títulos que disputó hoy en la final del torneo boxístico Strandzha, en Bulgaria, con protagonismo para Yosvani Veitía y Erislandy Savón, quienes subieron a lo más alto del podio.

El minimosca Veitía derrotó 3-0 al español Kevin de las Nieves, y el supercompleto Savón superó 4-2 el ruso subcampeón mundial Roman Kapitonenko.

Por su parte, el mosca Robeisis Ramírez y el crucero Lenier Perot cayeron 0-2 y 1-3 ante los búlgaros Alexandro Alexandar y Tervel Pulev, respectivamente.

Los cuatro boxeadores cubanos registraron este viernes jornada perfecta de semifinales, al triunfar en sus combates, pues Veitía dispuso 7-0 del ucraniano Dennis Shkarubo, Ramírez aventajó 3-2 al inglés Tommy Stubbs, y Perot le ganó por nocao al también inglés Simon Villily.

Otro tanto logró Savón, quien venció 2-0 al macedonio Prismislay Dimovski.

En el camino quedaron por la isla caribeña, el welter Carlos Banteur, el mediano Emilio Correa, el ligero Yasmani Toledo y el semipesado Julio Cesar la Cruz, mientras que el ligero welter Raniel Iglesias no participó por encontrarse en fase de recuperación de una lesión.

Radio Rebelde también señaló que el medallero dorado quedó en manos del anfitrión Bulgaria, con cuatro preseas de oro, seguida por Cuba, Rusia e Inglaterra, todos con dos.

Este año el torneo de Strandzha registró récord de asistentes, al reunir a unos 150 atletas de 22 países en la ciudad búlgara de Pazardjik

Banteur lost a fight some days ago , cant be the reason he why is suspended ? ( If its true , the suspension)

 

There some new pictures of Solis in another thread here and the man look a lot more like he should. Can we hope he come in 230-235 ?

I hate the scoring in amateur boxing. I can't believe two guys throwing punches at each other for three rounds only hit each other 4 times. Or has the scoring system changed?

 

Luis Ortiz was supposed to fight march 18, but now its cancelled.

 

It's because he just signed with Henry Rivalta's newly formed "Dream Team." There'll be a show announced soon at the American Airlines Arena, Luis Ortiz will be on that! Pretty much the whole Dream Team will be.
