Don't see Leyva lasting very long in this.

    Round 1

Vetyeka comes forward behind hard left hooks and right uppercuts to the body, as Roberto Leyva fights southpaw and tries to get a right jab going. HARD right hand over the top by Vetyeka. Leyva isn't taking these shots too well. Vetyeka bashes him against the ropes and is moving and hurting him even with the blocked punches as Leyva puts his earmuffs on. Leyva starts to retreat from one set of ropes to the next as Vetyeka comes forward punching fluidly and tirelessly. Vetyeka walks in behind a stiff jab and lands some more hard body punches before headhunting again when he gets Leyva on the ropes. Leyva throws out a lazy left lead and eats a hard counter right, driving him back. He is corralled into a corner but Vetyeka doesn't have time to unload as the bell rings.

    10-9 Vetyeka

He absolutely didn't. It was a good fight, though.

**** no! Definitely not robbed! He did do some good, damaging work but he was out-boxed. It was a very good fight. He was definitely physically stronger, as I saw it, but nowhere near as technically sharp. I think the whole thing is up on youtube. I highly recommend it. One of the best of the year.

Was it as wide as the scorecards? I'm always highly skeptical of Japanese refs especially when someone is coming to fight from outside.

    Round 2

Vetyeka is propelling himself forward off his lead foot and landing hard right hands, moving around Leyva and landing power punches almost with ease. Leyva gets in close and grabs. Vetyeka slides outside and lands some stiff jabs. Vetyeka leads with an uppercut leaping in and their heads come together, with Leyva moaning in pain. Vetyeka lands a jab through Leyva's gloves and then slips a jab coming back. Leyva tries to shoulder-tackle Vetyeka into the ropes and flurry at him but Vetyeka shows some nimbleness in stepping out the side door and countering.

    Round 3

Vetyeka picks his shots now, leading with the high powerful right hand and whipping some left hooks down and around to the side of Leyva's body. Leyva is getting tagged just about everywhere and tries his best to move his arms up and down to defend as needed. Vetyeka sharp-shoots from mid range and manages to avoid virtually all of Leyva's arm punches coming back at him. Leyva does land a nice left uppercut unseen while shouldering his way inside. Vetyeka lands a jab/uppercut combo while pushing Leyva into the ropes. Then he doubles the left hook as Leyva comes at him after spinning off the ropes, and floors him with another left to the body on the way by. Leyva is rolling around wincing under the bottom rope and is obviously not getting up.

I didn't think it was possible for a 120 pound male athlete to be pudgy. Leyva proved me wrong.
