    Antonio Tarver no question.

Jones is good, he adds a certain flavor to the commentating, but he stumbles on his words from time to time and can barely speak english. Tarver has just as much insight on subject matter and is much clearer with his words.

And I'll never get over when he called Carl Froch 'Carl Crotch' - Classic!

Tarver just has his number - at the broadcaster's table as well as in the ring.

Jones is very good at analyzing the fight.
He often knows what will happen before it happens.

    Tarver is nothing special.

These two are good, but Tarver is better.

I voted Tarver. They're both entertaining and good though. I'm worried that if Roy keeps fighting, he's going to lose his "sharpness" and start sounding all punch drunk.

Hmm, good thread. I'm not sure. Roy has to contend with the idiocy that is the HBO crew so his job proves more difficult. Tarver does a good job, but he's still kind of wooden on the mic and in front of a camera and he's a bit too "smiley" for my tastes. So, I give Jones the edge for now. But, if he fights Lebedev, he'll probably never speak again so Tarver will be P4P commentator.

everything about Roy is better. Roy is a great fighter and Tarver was a good fighter. Roy has all the experience and superfight experience and knows it all. Tarver is just not on the level, so he cannot put as much knowledge of everything about boxing into it like Roy. People are going to say Tarver beat Roy and yeah he did, but Roy's whole career is great. Tarver's is not. Different levels. Sort of like Hearns and Barkley. Barkley and Tarver beat the greats but they cannot compare.

I dont get why people are all over Tarver's nuts, I mean he's okay, but I dont think he's especially good. Roy Jones is a much better analyst because he has a higher ring IQ, and even though he has a tendency to talk about himself, comes across like a good guy who loves Boxing.

Exactly, Roy seems to know boxing strategy slightly better than Tarver. Tarver can also be too critical against boxers who are getting the hell beat out of them. Ward was beating Greens ass from pillar to post, and Tarver was talking crap about him. Although Green did bring some of it on himself with his boasting and bragging. Also, during the Green v Johnson fight Tarver said that Green had brought in a new trainer, and that "If it aint broke don't fix it", he cleaned it up by stating that the partnership between Jackson and Green obviously wasn't working, etc. Slight edge to RJJ.
